I don't know what you consider the regular stuff but I would recommend checking out downtown and going to either a Magic game or a City game.

if you have a car, consider jumping over east and checking out Kennedy Space Center over at Cape Canaveral. Outstanding place to visit & if you get lucky there may be a launch to witness. its about an hours drive

This is what I was going to suggest! Depending on when you visit, you might be able to time your day visit with a launch. Next launch is a night launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 on 15 November. You should be able to see the landing too since it'll be landing back at Cape Canaveral (not out at sea).

Otherwise, I'd say our springs, north of Orlando are underrated if you haven't visited them. Swimming, kayaking, manatees, gators etc... But I've heard they're still experiencing flooding/damage from Irma, so I'm not sure I'd recommend them this year.

City games are over. I would do some racing at Andretti's, check out the new Top Golf, Orlando Eye, hit the coast up (New Symrna), get a Magic fast break pass and catch a basketball game, eat eat eat, see a show at the Dr. Phillips performing arts center, go to the west coast beaches, check out UCF football, eat some more.

a fun space nerd bucket list is to see all 3 remaining Saturn 5 stacks - they are at Johnson Space Center - Houston, US Space and Rocket Center - Huntsville, AL and KSC. I am working on also seeing all 3 shuttles. I've seen Endeavor in Los Angeles and those machines are incredible to see up close

I haven't been there, but one thing I'd add to your bucket list is to go visit the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California. I hope to hit all of those at some point too!

By the way, KSC did an INCREDIBLE job with the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit. Not only are they impressive just on their own, but the way they reveal the exhibit when you walk in invokes a real emotional response too. Highly recommended particularly for space nerds lol. Can't wait to see Endeavor too.

if the California Science Center ever gets addition this built, that would be the time to go see Endeavor. they've got the last external fuel tank and 2 solid rocket motor stacks and plan on combining everything inot a vertical stack

What's new tech now. Launching our astronauts in a Russian space capsule then landing backwards by parachute in the Russian desert. 04-jawdrop 05-stirthepot 03-hissyfit 03-banghead 03-nutkick 03-drunk 05-stirthepot

That would be an incredible exhibit! Maybe I should wait on that Cali trip to visit that and JPL in one go.

Hey, we're really close to having our own options again! But yeah...pretty sad we're still dependent on 60s tech (Russian no less) to get people to space. 01-wingedeagle #merica

I am driving to Orlando tomorrow to spend Thursday-Monday at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort... 11 people, including 5 toddlers.

Shoot me.

I always took friends and relatives to Wekiva Springs State Park which is about 20 minutes north of Orlando. They loved it. Definitely different from the theme parks.

Recommend this as well. Go to Cocoa Beach for a few hours. Set up either at the Cocoa Beach Pier or farther down the stretch near the Coconuts restaurant bar.

Eat at Rustys by the Cape Canaveral Port on the way back

The Space Coast is nothing fancy but I like how laid back it is. The best time to hang out on the Beach is during what most of the country considers the off winter months so November is perfect.

Surprised nobody's mentioned it, but Daytona has a driving experience that I would think 16 year old boys would freaking love.
