Just to put that in perspective, here's the games where we give up as much or more.
1. A bad 4-7 team against a national championship Florida gators team.
2. A bad 6-5 team against a Miami hurricanes team that lost in the national championship game
3. The national championship against UMass where we turned the ball over 7 times and basically were playing walk-ons at linebacker.

This UMass team would struggle to make the playoffs in any power FCS conference. This is not the "FBS catching up to us" (whatever the heck that means), it's beyond-dismal coaching. We just keep sinking to new lows.

Not basically. Exactly that. One of the starters was a Georgia State cheerleader the year prior. His sister, yes, sister ... was the same Butler that became the first female player to score in a college football game (kicking).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonya_Butler

Whipple called off the dogs the entire second half of this game. I personally think he found it fun to keep the score at 55 for his own sentimental reasons, but maybe that is just me.

Neither do we, you know we have a recent habit in playing down to our competition? Regardless how bad you guys are it is a rivalry game, I'm sure we will throw some hope your way.

He won't be and it's not because of money. There are other issues at play.

I've never had less confidence we can beat App than I have this year, and that's saying something.

The year Brian VanGorder lost to Central Connecticut State I had some hope against App. In Hatcher's last year when our offense was looking anemic I had some hope we could win. I had some hope last year in spite of us playing a true freshman QB.

And those are all not-so-promising GS teams against pretty good App teams.

Watch us play very closely. You can see the lack of effort. The team has quit on these coaches

Heard a comment a week or two ago that the administration pays attention if the team loses it's moral in the locker room. The feed back is this was not the case. Yes we are not good but the coaching staff has not lost it's players confidence. That is the separating line between us and Southern. Perhaps we did you all a favor and you'll get a new coach. Nice to meet Eagle and his wife before the game and best wishes for good times in Southern's future. Will wish the same for us. We'll finish the Sun Belt tour next Saturday and expect us to put up a good fight, but not expecting a win.

How many freshman are playing prominent roles for App? Hennigan and Virgil are mpact receivers that are freshman and both running backs and center were freshman as well.
Playing down is a bit strong when in reality it's just youth.

I would agree with that had it not been for the Wake Forest game... playing to your competition in our case due to schedule will mean we are playing down to a lower level than we are capable... we played up against Wake... I believe we'd do the same vs stronger opponents.

Lol... App has nothing to worry about. Our game will resemble 2009... possibly much worse.

I was at that game. It was 65 degrees in the tailgate lot and sleeting by games end.

I truly feel bad for the players, the fans and the school. The conference needs a strong Georgia Southern program. So not normal.

The $64,000 question is can Ga Southern come up with the $'s to buy out Summers? It was reported yesterday on SBNATION the buyout would be around $1 million. Granted it can be paid in installments, but can a Eagle Athletic Department which is rumored to be somewhat strapped for cash afford that financial hit in addition to what it will take to bring in another staff?

THANKS UMASS! Hey maybe if you continue to struggle after the cupcake that was 2017 GS we can return the favor and get your coach fired next year when you come to the Boro!

Best of luck until then!

Yes. Our athletic dept is on as solid of financial footing as we have ever been.

Money is not as big of an issue as it has been in the past
