RE: Polls tomorrow
AP and Coaches Poll give too much consideration to the Preseason Ranking.
UCF could get to the teens and USF could sneak into Top 15

To me, this is wishful fanboy thinking. Looking at the AP poll the only teams ranked lower than #15 that lost were #19 SDSU, #24 Texas Tech and #25 Navy.
Now last week Memphis was behind West Virginia, LSU, and Texas AM in the 'others receiving votes' category. WVU beat #24 Texas Tech, Texas AM beat Florida, and LSU beat #10 Auburn. We could do the same thing for the Coaches poll, so how does Memphis get in? Doesn't compute.
Btw, UCLA, Memphis's 'big' OOC win, lost again yesterday.

Thing, is they do look at SOS. You have to, and while ot is great to be unbeaten, neither USF or UCF has beaten anyone worth mentioning.

LOL! You just got done talking about Memphis getting into the atop 25 and now you claim UCF hasn’t beat anyone? Don’t lump us in with USFs schedule.
Maryland WAS good when we beat them, Memphis is 5-1, FIU is 5-2.
Actually for that reason, UCF should certainly be the higher ranked team

Yep. That is how cartels work.

Neither team has a "big" OOC win this year.

We get a shot at the playoffs when 2 of the other P6 conferences have conf. champs with at least 2 losses, and ours is undefeated with at least 2 or 3 top 25 wins.
You have more faith than I do. UCF has a slightly better shot due to schedule (GT would have also helped), but I think a 2-loss conference champ like Washington would outrank an undefeated team from our conference.
Need a perfect storm of 2 and 3 loss champions, and I'm not sure enough teams have the OOC losses that would put them in a CCG with multiple losses.

Teams are losing at a rate that makes it possible. Hell, with ASU and Stanford winning last night, SDSU was primed to have a shot. Alas it was not to be.
I think UCF has a decent change, but their schedule is almost as bad as USF, so that may be a limiting factor.
Nonetheless, I will be rooting for USF/UCF to get close. G5 teams need to have a chance, or else the whole thing is a sham.

The whole thing IS a sham. I want an undefeated AAC team on a yearly basis to help showcase the sham the playoffs are.

What? I was explaining why Memphis won't be in today's top 25.
As for UCF vs USF, i agree that as weak as UCF's schedule is, it is tougher than USF's so i agree UCF should be ranked higher.
But the idea that Maryland was better when UCF played them is absurd.
