That's a very old photo, from the old WAC days about 10-15 yrs ago. I can tell because the WAC relegated its home teams to the far (typically the visitor) side. Why did you post that? Did I miss something?

That is the picture on espn with the box score to this game. So if its from your WAC days espn is mixed up. I figured it was a picture late in the game because it sure didn't match the true attendance. I was trying to figure out how many rows is in the band section. Three years ago I had season tickets to Tech (I buy 2 season tickets to one of the schools I will travel to that Western plays each year). I owned 2 and my seats were 17 and 18 and I believe there were 2 more seats in that lane. I thought there were 15 rows but wasn't for sure. So the picture I linked to (from this years box score) was large enough to count the rows.

So if each section held 300 and one was the band and one for visiting fans...600, plus the few sitting through out the stadium. Around 700 total as someone said. Which surprised me because listening to them it sounded like way more.

Again, I posted the pictures of BOTH sides of the stadium when you asked for them. You're a weird dude.....04-cheers

Yes you did and thank you for that but unlike the home side the visitor side was a small picture that I couldn't clearly see. Maybe you could have counted the number of seats..I couldn't. I had a question I needed answered and a HD picture did just that. Yeah, I guess I am weird, I like numbers and the one thing I hate is throwing out something and being wrong. To 999.99% of people that's not important..round up and call it a day.

Now maybe you can answer another question. Is there a reason Tech build their seating off centered like that? I asked one of the asst AD's that question 2 years ago when we were down there for a basketball game. He did not know. I guess most people that work in the AD office are like that. I know for the most part Western's is.

Good question. The stadium wasn't built "off centered", but rather it ended up that way only 2 years ago when we built the Davison Athletic Center in the south end zone. To build the DAC, the southern most wing on each side of the stadium was removed, to make room for construction. And yes, it left an awkward imbalance in the stadium seating on each side. I hate it, but I also expect the imbalance to be rectified at some point in the next couple of years. In short, it's a temporary issue.

RE-SIZE it or find a different one please. Or don't post. Lol. Either works for me.

Yeah, we were shocked with the low attendance of the UK game. Southern-BR will bring more people sadly. I'll just go ahead and say some of it was caused by Harvey.

New AD. Even with the 6,000 fewer fans we had but, with higher ticket prices, it was the 4th highest grossing game money wise in Southern Miss history per the school behind a Nebraska, Jackson St. and Mississippi St. Guess instead of giving it away they decided to start making money.

It wasn't built that way. The parts that stick out on the north end are metal bleachers that were added, and are not part of the concrete structure. Before the DAC in the south end zone, the seating was even in the North and South. I personally think they should add some permanent seats to fill the gap in the South.

So with that Western is sitting at 83% of butts in seats...17% of a full stadium. Would it look better and be better to fill those other 3900 seats? Sure it would.

But lets see which is more valuable to the conference....

17% of your seats sitting empty and winning 23 games over the last 2 seasons

Or having 4 to 5,000 more fans in the stands in a stadium that is half full and winning 7 or below games each of the last 2 years?

Seats sitting unused mostly only hurt that team. A team losing affects us all...

now out of these two has the larger negative affect on a conference...

2. 50% of your seats sitting empty even you are averaging 24k in attendance and losing

Lets be honest which do you think the average fan sitting at home watching a game is going to notice as a negative.....

only 18,600 fans in a 22k seat stadium winning
24,000 fans sitting in a half empty stadium losing

Lets just drop the winning or losing .....the average fan does not know or care the total number of butts sitting in those seats. The average fan will see a mostly full to a mostly empty stadium and take notice.

Here's the crowd for the NSU game. 24K is not bad for a game against an FCS school to open the season. Especially since a lot of Tech folks are waiting until game #2 against Miss State the following week to attend.

What does the Tech stadium hold, 28K? Got a picture of the student/visitor side? I was listening to the game and it sounded like NSU had a decent crowd there. You could clearly hear a very loud cheer when they made a good play.

Yes, it holds about 28K now. There were only about 700 NSU fans in attendance. You can see them on the bottom left corner of this attached pic. The NSU band in white. This pic shows the visitors/LA Tech students side:

As I thought from the sound, NSU had a very good crowd there along with their band. Sometimes scheduling a local FCS is better than a FBS team. At least your fanbase knows them and the FCS school is no different than us FBS schools....

when we go to a P5 we bring a lot more fans than if we are playing say...Ball St. So to those NSU fans they are playing their "super bowl" just as the Tech fans would feel if Tech was playing LSU.

It makes a lot more sense playing a school a hour or so away than scheduling a FCS school 8 hours away.

Yeah, it does. And we've done both. Your point is?

Maybe, but just need to find a way to a get shot in there you are at the height of your program and you played an in state team and you has less than 20k.
We has 28k for a G-5 school and it shows the potential we have.

03-lmfao Cmon man, the draw of Navy around the country is better than some P5 schools. We have talked about this before on many threads. Hosting a service academy is much better than any G5, really no comparision.

How many were there for Navy 10k?
We hosted Navy a few years back. I was there and it seems like we had good attendance, but I forget the numbers.

Not really, I was told it was considerably less than last time in Ruston, max of a 1,000.

I just told ya'll that the NSU crowd was estimated to be approximately 700. That's not great considering NSU is only about 80 miles from Ruston. I think they (the NSU fans) were expecting a real beatdown this time so they stayed home.

Even if there were 10K people at the game to see Navy, FAU did what they were supposed to do (minus losing). They had a quality opponent at home that would result in a great crowd / game environment.
No way there was 10k Navy fans, but ok man.

USM and La Tech never fail at being the old salty brother who is mad they couldn't move out with the rest of their buddies.

They teach reading comprehension at FAU? He said EVEN IF there were 10k Navy fans there, you guys still did it right by scheduling a game that filled your stands. He was defending you, saying good job. Who cares where the fans originated from as long as they land in your stadium. Stop being so ****** touchy about people you know are yanking your chain.

LaTech is consistent but they don't pack the house either and I don't see why they do to others what they hate EE doing to them. Start adding wins to good schedules and you guys could start out-attending most of us. You have the people there for it. Biting on attendance bait just makes you look like you have some mental complex.
