Do you guys have any plans to get a new stadium?

New? No. Not really needed. The new side is VERY nice. The next steps would be to close in the south end zone, add an upper deck on the new side, and remodel/expand the press box on the old side.

Nothing wrong with the stadium. I've been told by a lot of visiting (CUSA/SBC) fans Western's stadium is one of the better stadiums in the conference. Small but nice. I've been to every football stadium but UTEP (will do that in Oct) and while I'm totally bias...I agree with those fans.

When Western built the other side back in 2008 footers were added to be able to expand to 40k if ever needed.

I don't think I will live long enough to see that take place

Getting new updated and larger scoreboard next year. And to show how much of a basketball school Western is. Getting new ones inside the arena also. Those cost way more than football.

Congrats it took 100 years of La Tech football to avg 22k a game.

Even if there were 10K people at the game to see Navy, FAU did what they were supposed to do (minus losing). They had a quality opponent at home that would result in a great crowd / game environment.
No way there was 10k Navy fans, but ok man.

USM and La Tech never fail at being the old salty brother who is mad they couldn't move out with the rest of their buddies.

Did you even read my comment? I was trying to support FAU by saying if you guys had a very big Navy crowd at the game that is fine. Hell, I wish UK would have brought 10K people with them to the USM game.

What did you mean by La Tech being salty because they couldn't move out with the rest of their buddies? Who were there buddies and where did they go?

I promise I'm not dogging on anyone here, but can I just say how amazing it feels to not be a part of the fanbase that's trying to justify its attendance for once?

You wont see me knocking anyone's attendance. It's a G5 problem and instead of dogging each other we need to come up with ways to help each other.

We went for a basketball game 2 seasons ago and visited the stadium. I do not like hole in the ground stadiums other than Troy St.

We got to the parking garage before dark and my son keep saying "there's UNCC stadium", well he said Charlotte but they are UNCC to me. You can see it from the garage but I keep saying where, where. The next morning before heading out to ODU we stopped on campus and walked over to the stadium. I still do not like hole in the ground stadiums. Far away or close up.

Did WKU play at home and only had 18K. I assume they had rain as well. Sucks for attendance.

Yea. EKU only brought about 100 fans. Which is way under what anyone was predicting. That day was actually a really nice day. It had just rained 10 inches the day before. Lot of people decided not to come because of flooding in the area.
.
Rojo, do you know if the students count towards attendance? The area on the west side of the stadium behind the goalpost was packed at game time. There were at least 3 or 4 thousand sitting and standing where there aren't actual seats.

I was told once that only 5k of students are counted.....I could be wrong. But I agree, if you moved all those people to the stands and it would have been packed full

I just told ya'll that the NSU crowd was estimated to be approximately 700. That's not great considering NSU is only about 80 miles from Ruston. I think they (the NSU fans) were expecting a real beatdown this time so they stayed home.

That band is at the very least 300 strong and I assume the section next to the band belongs to them also. It is the visitor section and going by this picture (I assume late in the game) they had fans all through that side

I don't have a clue on their numbers but I do know every good play they made it sounded VERY loud...especially for only 700

That's a very old photo, from the old WAC days about 10-15 yrs ago. I can tell because the WAC relegated its home teams to the far (typically the visitor) side. Why did you post that? Did I miss something?

That is the picture on espn with the box score to this game. So if its from your WAC days espn is mixed up. I figured it was a picture late in the game because it sure didn't match the true attendance. I was trying to figure out how many rows is in the band section. Three years ago I had season tickets to Tech (I buy 2 season tickets to one of the schools I will travel to that Western plays each year). I owned 2 and my seats were 17 and 18 and I believe there were 2 more seats in that lane. I thought there were 15 rows but wasn't for sure. So the picture I linked to (from this years box score) was large enough to count the rows.

So if each section held 300 and one was the band and one for visiting fans...600, plus the few sitting through out the stadium. Around 700 total as someone said. Which surprised me because listening to them it sounded like way more.

Again, I posted the pictures of BOTH sides of the stadium when you asked for them. You're a weird dude.....04-cheers

Yes you did and thank you for that but unlike the home side the visitor side was a small picture that I couldn't clearly see. Maybe you could have counted the number of seats..I couldn't. I had a question I needed answered and a HD picture did just that. Yeah, I guess I am weird, I like numbers and the one thing I hate is throwing out something and being wrong. To 999.99% of people that's not important..round up and call it a day.

Now maybe you can answer another question. Is there a reason Tech build their seating off centered like that? I asked one of the asst AD's that question 2 years ago when we were down there for a basketball game. He did not know. I guess most people that work in the AD office are like that. I know for the most part at Western a simple question they should know will send them to ask someone else and that person asking someone else
