I love it. Scary balanced. Cronin has always been about unselfish team basketball and defense. Look out guys. I'm telling you....The Bearcats people were afraid to play are finally back..

Obi has a great game. Excited to finally see what Shamet is all about.

In theory, he could be if he'd stop worrying about the NBA. In reality, he's our 3rd best player. There aren't 50 players in the country better than Quinton Rose.

Considering the exclusion of Jacob Evans from this list, there are a couple of absurd selections to say the least.

I think it's a decent list. Six more AAC guys made the "Just missed" list. McDuffie and Morris, WSU. Broome and Evans from UC. Fall from UCF and Gray from UH.

Scary that Memphis has zero players on it, even including the other 20 for honorable mention. We are really starting over from scratch this season. Hope some of the Jucos come through for us.

Evans made the "just missed" list, so it's debatable. Nobody is going to agree with any list completely. The authors even stated that if people feel they omitted good candidates, let them know.

3+6=9 AAC players. It's hard for me to believe that Jalen Adams is (at best) the 10th best player in the conference. 07-coffee3

I wouldn't argue with that. I was surprised to see no Huskies on the total list.

What does that even mean, "if he stopped worrying about the NBA?" He shot 40% from the field last year and that is pretty terrible for anyone, much less a non-point guard. He was also a below average defensive player according to advanced metrics. Wasn't even in the top 20 in win shares in the AAC. It is an incredibly lazy ranking by the writer.

Rose has the potential to be very good, but again he needs to improve his efficiency and play better defensively. He is a great choice for breakout player in the conference but as of now I'd put Evans, Foster, McDuffie (and probably Cumberland) ahead of him as far as wings in the AAC.

Hmm, maybe we can start our own player rankings for the AAC. That might be interesting. 05-stirthepot

It's certainly bizarre to not see a single Memphis or UCONN player. Hopefully things return to normal very soon.

Scouts think Obi is either an NBA player, or has NBA potential. The problem is that he's not an NBA PF, so he had people in his ear saying he'd need to be able to shoot in order to stick in the NBA. It messed him up, and he needed to focus on improving in the post on both ends instead.

You are entitled to your opinion on Rose, but I disagree with you.

UConn has a couple of guys that have the potential to be an a list like that (Adams, Gilbert, Larrier), but two were hurt last year and I think Adams' talent exceeds his production at this point. Only shot 38% from the field in conference play last year...

My opinion of Rose is based solely on what I saw last year relative to the other guys. And it's always tough to rank these guys because they don't play in a vacuum. For instance, Rose was asked to do a lot more than Foster and had less help than the other guys on the list. You also may have information from offseason workouts re: Rose's improvement...

Are these in your rank order, or just a list of 10?

Edit: Not trying to be combative, just curious if this is a rank order from someone that has seen the league much more than I.

The Shamet clip vs Kentucky on that link is VERY impressive. I don't see Obi Bunchavowels as anywhere near this list. I'd have Gray, Clark, Evans and BJ Taylor well ahead of him. I don't know enough about the WSU guys yet...so don't get your panties in a wad for not
recognizing more than Shamet.

Jarrey Foster and BJ Taylor belong in the discussion, too.

It's a two-way street. There are a lot of good players in the league. As a WSU (and greater CBB) fan, I know some about most of the top AAC players, but haven't seen them as much as I'd like to make any sort of well-informed ranking. I'm both confident in some of the best WSU players to be among the best AAC players based on what I have seen relative to the broad national landscape, and excited to see the quality of some of the other AAC players on a regular basis.
