The greatest thing about Shamet is, he has star power without the star attitude. The most focused, humble, hard-working, unflappable player you will find. I think he picked up the unflappable part practicing against Fred VanVleet. Having All-American guards on your roster to teach the youngin's is invaluable. A culture of winning (at the highest level) is firmly established at WSU.

Jarrey Foster and BJ Taylor belong in the discussion, too.

Love what Foster brings but have to see him when he is more than the 5th offensive option on the court. Great athletic talent that could definitely be a big breakout candidate nationally.

Come on man. You make it seem like every star player besides Shamet is some chest thumper. Clark, Milton, Evans, BJ Taylor, etc. are all guys that just play the game without extracurriculars...

True. Jarrey has an NBA body and athleticism. He was around 6'4" coming out of HS but he is closer to 6'7" now with the ability to play the 2,3 and 4. He just needs to put it all together.

Watching that clip of Shamet makes me even more certain that he's been watching lots of film of Fred VanVleet (now with the Raptors). VanVleet was an elusive 6'0" guy who got to the basket by breaking ankles and getting defenders off balance.

Shamet, at 6'4", is picking up some of VanVleet's stop and go, blow by, and feeding an open post if he gets doubled. Shamet studies the game - and I'm not saying others don't. WSU fans really hope AAC fans get at least 2 years to watch Shamet play.

In addition to anything seen in the clip against Kentucky, he's been filmed with the top of his head above the rim in a dunk contest and has executed a 67" box jump (running start). He's capable of some SC Top 10 type dunks and posterizing some posts.

Kwintin Williams will be the AAC King of dunks this season.

Obi is really frustrating. He's got a PF body and terrific athleticism but he thinks he's a small forward. Temple fans were expecting the Obi that played lights out vs Miami in the NIT two years ago, instead we got this guy who was content to pick and pop and shoot threes. No way in hell would I say he's top 50 based on last years performance but, they are probably basing it on potential. All I have to say is, he better gas his ass down low and develop a low post game and be the player we need him to be.

Perhaps he's right... Or... Not.

Here's what I think... If Wichita can continue the exact same success here in the AAC say in the next 5-10 years than I'll agree 100% with him then.

Are these in your rank order, or just a list of 10?

Edit: Not trying to be combative, just curious if this is a rank order from someone that has seen the league much more than I.

Not that he has any business being on the list based on merit but Aubrey Dawkins may be one of the best NBA prospects in the AAC.

I watched him for two full years at Michigan and felt like he was definitely dealt the short end of the stick in terms of opportunity. He scored 31 points in a game as a true freshman yet was always second fiddle to Zak Irvin. He's a great shooter and a great leaper who hopefully can put together a few intangibles to become a complete player for USF this year.

Surprising that none of WSU's second unit made that list.

Now I just have to decide whether "duck and cover", or "zigzag, drop, and roll" would be the better evasive action.

I would advise you to operate just below the surface of the kiddie pool as you "lie in wait".

USF? 04-jawdrop I look forward to seeing Aubrey this year too, in BLACK and GOLD.

I think they'll definitely continue their success assuming Marshall sticks around.

Every other post doesn't have to be about how big shocker nation's dick is. We get it dude, you love your school. That's how it should be.
