The 3 courses at Firestone are pretty good as well.

I've pissed on six different courses within the Memphis city limits.

I hit a jogger with my tee shot on 7 at Overton once. Still got birdie. Do that at Old Waverly

I used to love getting blazed or tripping and exploring the woods trails around Overton at night.

I woke up on an Overton green once.

Old Waverly is nice. I haven't played the others he lists, but have played some (Sawgrass, Oakland Hills, Arcadia). OW is up there but I wouldn't say it's the best. Arcadia is hard to beat. Heck, Spring Creek is as good as OW.

OW was the first place I had to wear soft spikes though. A gentleman changed them out in the clubhouse for me. Lost 2-3 strokes because of it, and have never gotten them back.

They are adding a south course to Arcadia Bluffs.

Did not know that. When I played, it was still a relatively young course.

I thought the vice squad had cleaned up that kind of activity by arresting a bunch of those guys.

I don't know, I've heard of some homeless activity in those woods.

I haven't done it in a while but I'm also well-behaved too.

IN Audubon Park the boys hit each other with wooden swords. I saw the link in the peoples forum.

How far ahead did you have to make a reservation? I would love to, but I don't think you can make a reservation for a single. And my wife doesn't play.
Yes you can play as a single . You have to apply for dates. Unsure of the deadline for 2018.

Played Spanish Bay yesterday. The fairways were in poor condition due to water usage restrictions. Greens were fabulous. Still gorgeous!

Played Pebble Beach this afternoon. Perfect weather (65 and sunny) and near perfect condition.

Playing Cypress Point tomorrow morning. So pumped!! My 3rd trip here, but my 1st time at CP. The customer I'm with has a connection through a member. Evidently, if you play without a member (which we are), you have to go out between 7-8AM.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

You can just show up as a single. Get there before sunrise, line up at the starter shack, and they will fit you in with a group. Seriously, I did it several years ago. Also, spend the money for a caddy.

You are going to love it, as much because of the mystique and privilege to playing it as the course itself, which is amazing. It's funny that you mention that about the fairways at Spanish Bay, because when I was there 20 years ago it was the same thing; poorly conditioned fairways.

Our company had a trade show in San Francisco. I took an extra 10 days with 2 work colleagues. We flew into LA, stayed there for a couple of days, drove out to Palm Springs and played PGA West Stadium and Nicklaus, then drove north and stopped at Hearst Castle; then drove along US1, stayed in Big Sur, then onto Monterrey and Carmel, played Cypress Point, Pebble Beach and Spyglass, then off to San Francisco for the trade show.

I wasn't into wine that much back then. If I made the trip today, I would probably give up a day of golf to go to Sonoma, Napa or Paso Robles. Still an amazing trip.
