I asked the ticket office if I could buy tickets for the SDSU game. They said they don't have any information on SDSU yet, and to call back August 1
Understand the ticket office is extremely short-handed, but "call back August 1" is not an acceptable answer!
You've got a --- 1) buyer, 2) alum, 3) loyal supporter, 4) fan, 5) someone with money or time to go to San Diego, 6) potential donor or a donor who may then give more or 7) all of the above contacting you and you suggest they get call you back at a later date? Seriously?
THE APPROPRIATE ANSWER SHOULD HAVE BEEN "If you would please be so nice as to share your name and phone number, I'll contact you as soon as we receive tickets for the San Diego State game. As a back-up, could you please share an e-mail or regular mail address so that
we can make certain to get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for supporting the Huskies and please do call us whenever you have questions or believe we can be of help."
Short-handed or not, it's not like the number of times you'll get this type of phone call will be impossible to deal with. Take the info suggested above and stick it to your calendar, computer, someplace prominent and follow-up. It's called service, it's called making a sale! The purpose of the ticket office is to sell tickets.
