Mizzou AD:I think we're fine [in the SEC East]
We’ve heard from the Auburn side, but Mizzou has been rather silent on the subject. AL.com’s John Talty recently caught up with Mizzou AD Jim Sterk about potential division realignment.
“I think we’re fine and like where we are at,” Sterk told AL.com. “There’s been no discussion within the conference and with the commissioner about anything different. Until that point, I’m not going to speculate. But I can say we like where we are at. We’ve got schedules out until 2020 in football, so it’s something that would take a lot.”
The realistic answer — and maybe the final answer — is that it won’t work. The SEC will preserve long-time rivalries as long as it possibly can until a much bigger shift, say conference expansion, were to happen.

So you saying the SEC is weighing its expansion options or is Auburn setting the stage to get what they want when it does occur?

Auburn will favor and market any legitimate western expansion.

Don't really have any eastern expansion options besides West Virginia. Maybe when the ACC GOR expires, Virginia Tech could be available. FSU always seems to fully explore their options.

I agree but I would say I mean vs no expansion at all

It also depends on how the scheduling will workout. Remember it supposedly took two rounds of voting to get Missouri in the SEC, not because of any negatives on the school, but because the football schedule had to be ironed out to garner enough votes.
Expansion could be very limited if we don't allow greater flexibility in conference scheduling and determination process of the conference champ.

You'll be in my prayers Medic! I hope the surgery is quick and precise and your recovery swift. Falls seem like nothing in your teens, hurt in your 30's and are hell after your 50's. They can be deadly in your 70's.
As you age there are two secrets to a long life:
1. Stay upright and moving.
2. Whatever happens keep breathing.
Take care! JR

Personally I like Missouri in the East. The games are pretty evenly matched year to year and the "battle of Columbias" is catchy. Obviously we have more history with Auburn so that's a positive but I feel the Missouri games are good for both of us.

ECU should rebrand as Carolina Atlantic University or Carolina University of the Atlantic or something like that - remove the "East." Just Carolina Pirates for short.

Nah. If they have the disciplines they can go to Carolina Polytechnic Institute or Carolina Tech for short.

I like East Carolina. I feel like Carolina Tech sounds like a for-profit, online university.

Nah. If they have the disciplines they can go to Carolina Polytechnic Institute or Carolina Tech for short.
I guess there isn't a Carolina Tech. I still like ECU. If USC (Southern Cal) can get by...
I like East Carolina. I feel like Carolina Tech sounds like a for-profit, online university.
Not if you give it a more official sounding version of the name: N.C. Tech
That would be better, in my opinion.
Similar side comment: I wish Akron would've changed to Ohio Tech and Bowling Green St would've changed to Ohio A&M. I think the branding would be better for those universities.
Here's an article talking about Akron-to-Ohio Tech: http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-footbal...2mihfambv5
I couldn't find a link for Bowling Green St-to-Ohio A&M but I remember hearing something about that (it could've just been conjecture)
