Dern Pirate. You had a musical bowel movement of epic proportions. Soundgarden is one of my favorites that take me back to my college days. I always liked this one from their 1989 Louder Than Love album (before they were a big name)...

Chuck Berry is up there with Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and others who were the trail blazers for Rock-n-Roll that branched out in so many directions after them. Here's one of his many, many hit songs that Pirate didn't already post...

Spinning Chuck Berry 45s as a child along with Beatles and Elvis are my earliest memories as a music lover. He is a Rock Icon in my opinion. I think he was very influential on the British Invasion. I could be wrong about that but I seem to remember interviews where Chuck was cited as an influence on the British music scene of the early 60s.

Count me in with the 45s too. You are correct on his influence to Britain. Jimi Hendrix was another that came along after Chuck to influence the invasion. I didn't know if you noticed from the video but Keith Richards was playing in his back-up band. Chuck was a huge influence on Keith and the Stones.

I like it when they stick to more straight along rock tracks versus some of their more esoteric/alt rock type stuff. A hits cd was perfect for me even though I did own Superunknown at one point.

As for the Bowel Movement ..lol... I like to do bulk posts when I do them, and I like to post stuff I hadn't posted in a while as well... so... If I had posted something I had listened to recently but already had a fairly recent post with some of the same tunes/albums I post when I hit something different.
