Then again if Elliott and company don't think those guys can cut it then you don't take a guy just to take a guy. FAU had a coaching change as well in guessing Trickett can pull some of his commits from there over. There is still talent out there.

Word out of Columbia is Elliot was not going to be retained by Muschamp. It is widely thought Cobb wanted Elliot over Satterfield, but at the time he was making big money in Columbia as Assoc HC and riding the coattails of Spurrier. My how things can change quickly. Tanner forced Muschamp to retain Shawn. He agreed, but only guaranteed him a one year deal. His old buddy Cobb - yes they are - gave Elliot a call and he jumped at the chance to escape Columbia. Cobb had bet his job on Elliot. It'll be interesting to see how this works out.

Literally bet his job. This is Atlanta. There is nowhere to hide if this goes south. There may not be room to cover a mid major except when they are doing poorly. So far hiring his cronies has not worked for marketing. So we we are to believe it will work for the day to day and gameday operations of the team? I really really hope I am wrong. But tey seem to be in ove their heads.

RE: Ga State hires...
I've known Rick Beasley since he came to Appalachian. He became a Mountaineer football legend and loved by App Nation. However, his reputation took a severe hit when he hitched his wagon to Cobb. Rick was in county government for 25 years before taking over fundraising for App Athletics. He didn't have a clue what he was doing, but Cobb figured his personality and reputation would help him get the job done. Didn't happen. We all know it is a challenge to raise corporate dollars located in a resort area 50 miles away from the nearest major city, but App's corporate fundraising was abysmal under those two. If they are not having success in Atlanta, it's no wonder they did so poorly in Boone.

Well if you work hard, get all your vitamins in and do your best at practice, good things can happen buckaroo. We will probably lose to you guys again at some point, maybe. Look at the bright side. We probably won't give you the most lopsided loss in your programs history at Paulson... again. So that is something.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think each one of us has given the other team their worst loss at home (point wise) haven't they?

Yes. In our 7 season history, you have. But... it isn't every day though a 6 year old program does it to a 31 year old program. It is more common the other way around, wouldn't you say?

I wasn't trying to rub anything in btw, just thought it was a curious thing I realized earlier.

And yes, you are right.
