I don't know how well Toledo will travel. Rocket fans haves travelled well to the GoDaddy Bowl and Boca Raton Bowls. Regular games venues like Florida, Mizzou, Iowa State, even FIU there's been quite a few Rocket fans. I'm familiar with Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile. Montgomery, not so much.

Not disappointed at all. Had a great time last year. It's all about the game. Frankly, more interested in going somewhere that bowl is embraced by the community. In some places, it's just another game as a prelude to a bigger game. Really excited we get Toledo as an opponent, it will be a big time challenge for our D.

Exactly. I thnk some fans look at it more as a reward for them than the team. Three bowl games in Orlando this year. UCF/A State, WVa/Miami, and LSU/Louisville plus Mickey World and all the other stuff down there this game gets lost. There should be a decent UCF crowd, but don't see that many A State fans making the 800 mile trip. IMO what stinks is A State & App are on at the same time.

A lot of State fans are complaining and I just can't see why. Orlando is a good town to fly into and generally has low fares. I have a home two hours south so location is no concern but I have had enough of Anderson. Sitting out until he is gone.

Memphis to Orlando, Friday to Sunday round trip was about $350-370.00
Orlando has some of the best prices for accommodations.

Allegient Airlines, according to UCF fans, had round trip flights for $115. Must be trying to supplement their cargo holdings with passengers at those fares.

ESPN vs. CBSSN -- No brainer.
Toledo vs. UCF vs. So Miss -- I'll take Toledo.
Time Slot -- Fantastic.
Drivable (ergo, lots of fans) -- CHECK.

I'd take Camellia vs. Toledo over many, many other bowls, not just the other Sun Belt bowls.

Overall this is probably the best setup for the entire conference to make money on the bowls, get wins for the conference RPI which counts for even more money if we can finish 3rd.

I think us in Orlando, and stAte in Montgomery, might be a little better from that perspective. We'd probably travel a little better to Orlando than Montgomery, and stAte for sure would travel better to Montgomery than Orlando. USA in Montgomery would probably be better than both, but no one is going to Arizona regardless. I think these are the most evenly matched games we could hope for though.

I was speaking in terms of tickets sold combined with chances of victory and interest in matchups. We will sell a lot of tickets and southern miss is an old rival. I think app will travel well and matches up with Toledo better than stAte. Troy will sell tickets and can beat Ohio. Having us in New Orleans, Troy in mobile, Idaho in Boise and app in montgomery probably givevthe conference the best chance to offset the losses of Orlando and Arizona.

Agreed, best from an all around perspective. Zero chance they would've put Toledo in Montgomery against stAte again.

As much as I'd like a new, "sexier" city to go to, I'll enjoy being surrounded by App fans again no matter what.

I'm amused with all the "sexier city" talk. We're going to play a ballgame not vacation. Chattanooga doesn't have a thing on Montgomery, it's the same distance from our major alumni hubs and App fans went there in droves. If you want to go to see Mickey or drink in the French Quarter it's open for business 24-7-365. This game has the potential to be one of the best games in the bowl season and is ranked by CBS as the 14th best of the 40 bowls way ahead of some of the more "prestigious" games.

And sure, the team is going down there to play a ballgame, and that's the main draw, but a bowl game also gives an excuse to check out a new place. It's not that crazy to even suggest that it would be cool to go to NO.

Mobile seems like it could be fun as well, if they'd change the dates.

The last two Toledo bowl crowds. It rained in Boca. In Both photos Toledo was on the near side.... Fairly spread out. Hard to tell how many we bring.

If this is the closest Bowl you all could expect to go to, hopefully more people will be there. 8,000 or so Toledo Fans should fill the Cramton up the rest of the way.

Got my ticket and hotel. Will be the first bowl game I've ever attended. Glad to support a fellow G5 matchup.

Do we know what side the fans of each team will be on yet? Last year App was on the "away" side because that's the side that was seen the most on TV and they knew we were gonna bring more fans. Do you think they will put the App people on the same side again this year?

There's only one other G5vG5 above the Camellia bowl in that ranking and that's Houston vs. SDSU

So in other words it's the 2nd best G5vG5. I'll take that in the 3rd full year FBS. Hi Hi Yikas.

They should if they knew what was good for TV.

21,000 is capacity. It's hard to estimate our traveling crowds... we never sit packed together. Ohio is usually the best traveling MAC team. That surprises me that they didn't bring a good amount last year. Our band and student section will be fine. The rest? Hard to say.

Memphis vs. WKU IMO is the only more intriguing G5 vs. G5 game. Houston should smack SDSU.

Since WKU is losing their coach and they just don't play against defense in CUSA I don't see that being much of a game

Instead of being thrilled to be in our second ever bowl game in year two of FBS eligibility, some of our folks NB are acting like we're too good for the Camellia Bowl.

They also act like New Orleans is the marquee bowl when in reality, a match-up against Toledo on Saturday on ESPN is just as marquee. On TV it appears moreso because the stadium looks full as opposed to playing in front of 20,000 people in a 75,000 seat dome.

Just said I'm excited to go down there and be surrounded by App fans, and I've been nothing but complimentary towards Toledo and am excited to see how we stack up. There's not another team that I'd rather be playing in any of the Sun Belt bowls. I went last year and had a great time.

And sure, the team is going down there to play a ballgame, and that's the main draw, but a bowl game also gives an excuse to check out a new place. It's not that crazy to even suggest that it would be cool to go to NO.

Bruh. There was nothing full about that stadium last year, mainly because MAC fans suck. Not like any schools from the MAC have huge fanbases anyways, though.
