The fact that you've managed to fight your way to the front of the short bus that is our conference's national competitiveness this season is worth whatever you want it to be worth. It doesn't take a mathematician or Ivy League stat analyst to figure that stAte is little more than the shiniest turd in the bowl.

Half of the conference would get taken to town by a top-10 FCS team. The Sun Belt is a ******* embarrassment this season. GS and App could have (should have) saved everyone from that fate. Instead, both failed and we get the same turd sandwich that will throw up all over the conference during bowl season.

On behalf of teams who aren't happy with simply finishing in the right spot, no matter how awful our overall production is, I apologize for GS and App. They could have and should have done more for the Sun Belt than let stAte and its wet fart of a resume represent the conference.

Can you cry just a little bit more? My front yard needs the water.

Don't use his tears.
They're too salty.

The hope is that things have been turned around for good and stAte can represent us well in their bowl game. I think being apprehensive about that is a valid concern though. The posters expressing those concerns don't mean any ill will towards stAte and don't deserve to be attacked.

You forget that the game was tied at 17 at halftime.
Then we caught the injury bug. Losing key players against a solid Tech team is the result you saw. Injuries can derail anyone, even the best.

You speak of concern like there's something you can do about it. Well, other than beat us on the field, its not like you can say "We as the SBC message board posters feel that stAte would not represent us as well in a bowl game as our conference champion, therefore we will be replacing you with Troy, since they have more out of conference wins." And this Louisiana Tech debacle? I guess you don't know the definition of debacle. We lost by 19 points and were tied at half time. We were without one of our top tacklers and lost our top receiver and top rusher early in the 1st quarter. A debacle would be more like 61 point loss to Houston.

RE: I Hope Everyone is Ready
I don't get the hate. Maybe it's because my team sucks this year, but stAte has earned the right to represent the conference (thus far... season isn't over yet) as the conference championship.

Do I wish they had started hotter? Yup. Do I wish they hadn't lost to an instate FCS school? 100%. But at the end of the day, every team on stAte's schedule had the chance to shut them down, and thus far, they haven't done it.

Overall, I think Troy earned that #25 ranking, even if it was for just four days. Kudos to them for being the first Sun Belt team to accomplish that. Now it'll be up to Troy to win out, build on it starting next year, and reclaim that spot. For stAte? I'm hoping it took them a bit to find their footing, and they are ready to rock the bowl game they go to.

For Texas State? I just want to win another fricking game right now!

I'm sorry we embarrassed everyone in New Orleans last year. It was horribly uncompetitive I mean it was tied with just over 20 minutes left despite our starting RB going out the first drive and our best WR (on the Falcons practice squad now) going out in the first half.

That would not surprise me, but I hope it does not happen again this year. Last year my Red Wolves went undefeated in Conference play and then got stomped into a mud hole by a fellow G5 in our Bowl Game. Lots of excuses were made for that specific loss but the fact is we lost all our OOC games. That is unacceptable and does little to improve the perception of the Sun Belt.

Good luck to my Red Wolves and this time make the SBC proud and win our Bowl Game. 04-cheers

I'm tired of this "well beat us on the field" talk. Nobody is saying you don't deserve the accolades you'll receive if you win out. You'll deserve the trophy and a nice bowl game. There is just apprehension about your ability to perform against any team that doesn't have a Sun Belt patch on their shoulder. Like it or not, you guys have that reputation for a reason. You have to admit it looks bad collectively for all 11 teams in this conference though that you guys can't win a non-conference game and none of the other 10 teams can beat you guys. I've spent this week defending the Sun Belt conference on our board from some of our delusional posters, but this conference has a long way to go to relevancy.

And, please, leave us out of this. Every game we play is a debacle. You guys will beat us by 40. We are the worst team in the league by a long shot. We have the worst run athletic dept. in the conference by a long shot, and despite adequate resources we struggle to consistently compete with anyone. We are an embarrassment to this conference, and more importantly, to ourselves. I'm just glad you guys let us stick around.

This board is hilarious. It's somehow stAte's fault that the conference looks bad because your own teams can't beat us. Right...got it. Wow, this world is crazy.

Let's see.......winning five titles out of the last six years will do that to a teams fan base. Your fan base was arrogant just based off your FCS success.

This years stAte team reminds me of App back in 2014. We had a terrible start that included a loss to an FCS team. That loss triggered major changes that lead to us winning 6 straight, and now 24 of 29 games since. Sometimes things just click, and it appears that has happened in Jonesboro.

Exactly. I even popped in here last night to say I want even going to mess with the Troy folks and suddenly you had idiots from around the league chiming in including some asshat telling us we didn't have anything to be proud of.

If you don't like us, or the way we do things, just beat us. It really is that simple.
But to bit ch and moan about things after the fact, are pointless.

Right...."You won but you suck" "You won but you will get beat in a bowl game" "You won because App wore them down". Those are all examples of saying something "bad" to diminish the outcome. Not too mention few if any at all giving us a chance before the game.

I did not talk trash one bit before or after but the whining from some folks after our game is getting ridiculous. We have a 15 game winning streak. If anything, the humility is unprecedented.

We can't beat you. Nobody can. stAte is the best team in the conference.

It would be nice if you could beat teams from other conferences though so we all didn't have to collectively feel so bad about ourselves. And so other conferences didn't have that stat to point to.

I keep thinking at some point you guys will realize nobody is insulting stAte, but its just not getting through....
