RE: NIU Volleyball player kneels during anthem
When STF uses a break in a Huskie FB game to give the volleyball team a game ball, I will just sit on my hands. If she is not going to respect my team, why should I respect her's?

I don't care if Obama was born in NYC or Siberia, he is the worst President we have ever had , period.

Worse than William Henry Harrison?!?!?! He couldn't survive a month!

In all reality you were a birther. Anyone who was a birther shouldn't be allowed to vote. PERIOD. SPINELESS.

William Henry Harrison was a general who was a hero of the war of 1812 and the Indian wars who was instrumental in securing America's frontiers from Great Britain. He was also a successful politician. He died on his 32nd day in office as president at the age of 68. William Henry Harrison did more for his country than Obama ever did. The fact the the Northwest territory (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota) is part of the United States is due to his actions.

Please look up the historical facts before you spout off and look like a fool!

He accomplished little to nothing as president! Worst president ever!!!!

Accomplishing nothing qualifies him as better than Obama. Obama has ruined this country and divided it. That makes him a distant second to obama

RE: NIU Volleyball player kneels during anthem
Under Obama

- Black unemployment up 20%
- Initiated Obamacare which is in a complete and utter free fall right now
- Added more to national debt than every other President combined
- Made the US the largest state sponsor of terror in the world by funding 150 billion dollars to Iran
- Transformed Israel from a coveted ally to an enemy (in his eyes)
- Has stoked racial tensions (that were healing before him) by pre-judging high profile race cases (every single one of this pre-judgments has been wrong)
- Miscalculated the strength of ISIS (JV TEAM), and allowed them to carry out genocide in the Mid East and north Africa

If Obama is not considered the worst President we have ever had, I would REALLY like to know who has done a more horrific job.

- Black unemployment up 20%
From Jan 2009 to Feb 2016, black unemployment has gone from 12.7% to 8.8%. Black teen unemployment has gone from 35.3 to 23.3 % in the same period. Overall unemployment is under 5%, and it was 8% in 2009. Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that in January 2009, when the president was sworn in, the country lost 818,000 jobs. And BLS data show that the last time the United States lost jobs was in September 2010, when 27,000 jobs were lost.
- Initiated Obamacare which is in a complete and utter free fall right now
Fewer than 1 in 10 Americans lacked health insurance in 2015, the first time ever in the nation's history that the uninsured rate has fallen so low, and a clear sign of Obamacare's impact.
- Added more to national debt than every other President combined.
The national debt started with Ronald Reagan when he spent so much on national defense, cut programs for the middle and lower classes, and cut taxes for the rich. This started it and the lack of taxes to pay for our expenses has helped compound the growth in the debt. It will compound with each presidency because of interest and over spending and the current congress doesn't work together to balance the budget. Congress spends our money and that has been republican for more years than democrat.
- Made the US the largest state sponsor of terror in the world by funding 150 billion dollars to Iran
The deal stopped their nuclear arms buildup for 10 years and paid off a debt we owed since the 70's. No one knows how this deal will end up. Many people are against it and many people think it was a good deal.
- Transformed Israel from a coveted ally to an enemy. This is BS. There are 2 sides to the confrontation in the middle east and we're still strong allies with Israel.
- Has stoked racial tensions (that were healing before him) by pre-judging high profile race cases (every single one of this pre-judgments has been wrong) This is just stupidity. We have racial problems in the US and Obama has handled them very diplomatically. You thought everything was great before Obama came in? That makes sense coming from you. Make America great again (for us old white dudes).
- Miscalculated the strength of ISIS (JV TEAM), and allowed them to carry out genocide in the Mid East and north Africa. He did make a comment that ISIS wasn't as imposing as Al Qaeda and referred to them as the JV team. And they have grown and caused a lot of terror in the world. But they have been slowed in their growth and have been overrun in many cities that they took strongholds in. And he didn't create ISIS, the many wars and occupations in the past years, and prior administrations, were the cause of ISIS.

If Obama is not considered the worst President we have ever had, I would REALLY like to know who has done a more horrific job. It's impossible to compare past and present presidents, but you don't have to look too much in the recent past to find a worse president. His name is Bush. You pick which one.

Gregg Popovich on anthem protests. Popovich interview

He is very astute. No wonder his players like him so much.

Popovich is a tool

Of course he has to tailor his view to the spoiled ignorant athlete. To give the middle finger to everyone that has served this country to protect our freedom is just so beyond inappropriate.

Exactly, that is what the problem is. The media is dominated by the left. People believe what the media tell them. This election and the past election is a stark reminder that the media determines the outcomes of elections. People just do not think for themselves, they do what they are told to do.

Ironic you bring up freedom, then when someone practices freedom you are upset by it......

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

MD - please read Popovich's comments. You are so out of touch with the reasons behind their protests.

To me what makes Black Lives Matter and Popovich way off base here is that the protest is building a false equivalence. Sticking your middle finger up and all the brave men and women that have defended this country so that you have freedom does not combat the problem of a few bad cops who are prejudice. There are better ways to protest that than to completely disrespect those that have given their lives for us.

The national anthem isn't just about the military and police and they are not protesting in order to raise their middle finger to them.

This is from an article from Dan Carney of USA Today.

Many of the bravest living Americans never marched into combat, but did march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in 1965 in Alabama to demand justice for all Americans. Many of the people who made America great and its symbols worth standing for made their contributions far from the battlefield or the crime scene — in courtrooms, in schoolhouse steps, in boardrooms, laboratories and on shop floors. Some of them changed the world from their parents' garages or invented flight on the beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Making it clearer that the national anthem stands for those Americans just as much as for our uniformed defenders is vital to promoting a broader patriotism. Who knows, it might even persuade Kaepernick to stand up.

Not just the media. The only people that are far right-wing in the entire world, other than a few dictators, are Republicans. That should be telling you something, though I'm sure it won't.

I am now a big fan of ECU fans, they demonstrated their right to protest the highly offensive protest of ECU band members. Look like their attempt to self-promote backfired a bit

Embarrassed that she goes to NIU. Thank God it's in a sport that no one watches or cares about.

Proud that she stands for something that she feels is important enough to make a non-violent protest about.

She owes our service men and women an apology, that much I know. Someday we will get back to a time where people don't hate this country and everything it stands for. This country continues to get preyed upon by the left and exploited for political gain.
