The longer this goes the more than those teams competing for a spot can make an impact with this season.
You could swing 1-2 votes that might be on the fence with a big season and lots of your name being mentioned by the media.

No I know how much woody some of you get about catching them. Wouldn't want to deprive that small joy from the trolls.

It's gorgeous and charming but so is Santa Barbara but no one is clamoring to add ucsb.

Well, since 1980 Colorado has almost doubled in size and added 2.5 million people...its a high growth state.
For comparison, Ohio has added about 850K during that same time period. Cincinnati has lost a sizable percentage of its population.
And Air Force fits all the criteria...academics, market (just south of Denver), national rep, adjacent to Kansas and Oklahoma. They have a 53K stadium.
I just think it fits and I think the Presidents will think that too.
You could see the scenario playing out with Houston and Air Force to the Big 12, the MWC adding UTEP and the American adding Army and going to 10/12. Would make a ton of sense geographically (which would be a welcome change from previous expansion).

How about Memphis? It sounds like Oklahoma doesn't want them, but no one ever explained why.
Triple A says they are in. Take it to the bank.
I didn't say we are in, and I didn't say take it to the bank. I said I feel confident about us and Cincy, but nothing is final until announcements. That's my opinion. I'm allowed to have it, no matter how much it irritates you.
And I am nowhere near the only Memphis fan who feels that way.

Yeah, the Big12 and the media partners are smart. Lets make this an ongoing drama. We now have the fan bases of 20 more schools focused on our TV screens, telling them basically, get your numbers up if you want to be part of the party.

No, because Tulane is a private, has a 25K stadium and doesn't have the national TV reach of the Academy. Air Force has also proven to be a consistently competitive program.
Nice try though.

Because Tulane is exclusive it doesn't dit your criteria? You don't know how service academies work.

Writing is on the wall, very clear the B12 is adding Temple. We will of course be lobbying for our American brethren to join us.

Houston may be the beneficiary of BYU's "private" status.
If they decide to go 14, I wouldn't be surprised if its Colorado State and Cincinnati.
So that would mean two MWC programs and two American. I'm betting they just go to 12 now, because it doesn't affect those leagues as much and the TV partners would agree.
I disagree. If BYU is out---then there is zero reason to move west. West never made sense if your already stretched to W Virginia (plus all the population is in the east). The only reason west was an option was because BYU was such a ready for P5 status candidate.
I'd say this is excellent news for eastern teams like the Florida twins and UConn.
If BYU is out, then you are right. No need to go west but Air Force was offered the last time. They turned it down. Air Force is a top 40 academic institute and gets good ratings. Their football would be mid to lower level in the Big 12. I can defintitely see the attraction
We could end up with something crazy like Cinci/Memphis with Air Force and Maybe Navy.

I'm always amazed at how this does not register with fans.
Boise State was a Top 10 program for a number of years and the best they got was a call up to the MWC when 3 members left.
Rutgers sucks. Yet, they moved conferences. Maryland football was a middling ACC program. Yet, they moved conferences. It doesn't matter what you do on the field this season, you just cant be a Tulane type program that has small facilities, fanbase, etc...UCF is a great example, they will not get penalized for being 0-12 last year when it comes to re-alignment. And it doesn't matter if they go 6-6 this year or 10-2.
IT. DOESNT. MATTER.

The City of Cincinnati has lost population. However, the majority of that lost population moved to the areas surrounding Cincinnati, i.e. Northern/Eastern suburbs, as well as North KY and some to Indiana.
If you add one team from CO - what would be the need for adding 2? Other than to not create another island.
The B12 is so all over the place, I think anything is possible with this bunch.

I disagree. If Tulane had shown a pulse in football they would be in the conversation more for the B12 based off their location. Houston is in the discussion because they are coming off an amazing year and look set to repeat. TCU was added because they had a run of Top 25 years. Performance matters.
