Doesn't sound good for BYU.

So now we are looking at christmas?... yaaaa.....
If Air Force is making a pitch to join...I think the Big 12 presidents will see them as a no brainer, gets them back into the Colorado market.

Houston may be the beneficiary of BYU's "private" status.

If they decide to go 14, I wouldn't be surprised if its Colorado State and Cincinnati.

So that would mean two MWC programs and two American. I'm betting they just go to 12 now, because it doesn't affect those leagues as much and the TV partners would agree.
Seriously, what is it about the Colorado market that makes some posters go GAGA?

I disagree. If BYU is out---then there is zero reason to move west. West never made sense if your already stretched to W Virginia (plus all the population is in the east). The only reason west was an option was because BYU was such a ready for P5 status candidate.

I'd say this is excellent news for eastern teams like the Florida twins and UConn.
"...Asked which criteria the presidents are evaluating, Leath mentioned academics, athletics, television markets and also, “How they behave. What is their history of playing by the rules?”... .

Those are probably not the rules that they are talking about. I am thinking along the lines of NCAA violations. The article even points to that. I think that they mean schools with a history of infractions.
I read a post by someone who reports for ECU athletics that Houston is in. The second choice would be BYU but with all the baggage that they come with they may not be picked for number 2. Maybe Cincy instead. If expansion occurs by 2 members Houston and BYU would be survivable for the AAC.

I agree with your conclusion but those two are the least likely combination out there.
Sooooo, that rules out UCF, USF and UConn?

How about Memphis? It sounds like Oklahoma doesn't want them, but no one ever explained why.

That what Trammel's opinion not Oklahomas
Just take Air Force and Colorado State! That way West Virginia will be fed up and join AAC which opens up UH to the Big 12 and Army to AAC.

They also got in a fight with BYU. So they are down to Tulane and Tulsa?
