This makes me so happy. Glad they're able to think for themselves and not partake in the NAACP / Liberal monolith.

Local radio had a black pastor out of Greensboro I think on yesterday and he absolutely obliterated supporters of the bathroom bill, and called out those comparing this to the civil rights struggle. I wish he could get on a national news program.

Just curious, did this pastor have a substantial congregation? Does this pastor have financial ties to anti gay groups like some of our opponents in the gay rights arena?

Either way, we could have him debate Congressman Lewis or any number of legitimate civil rights heros that fully support LGBT rights and who also use civil rights language to describe the struggle for LGBT rights.

Which one? Many of them spoke out for HB-2. Some marched with Dr. King.

Don't know, I just caught part of it on my drive home. He did mention that he was part of the Greensboro sit-in early in the Civil Rights movement.

Of course they spoke out against hb2. Hb2 removed significant protections for African Americans too.

I would be surprised if any of them publicly supported non discrimination protections covering LGBT persons in private employment or in government contracting.

Millions marched with Dr King.

That was a typo I was referring to the pastors here that spoke in favor of it.

Which seems to point towards these pastors being those with marginal congregations. I doubt many in the African American community support a ban on access to state courts for discrimination claims for African Americans or a ban on minimum wage laws, both of which were part of HB2
With 30 bucks and a few clicks on a keyboard I can become a pastor too. Doesn't make me a 'religious leader'.

One has a congregation of over 3000 and a Christian school of over 500 in Charlotte. Others have congregations of at least 100 and growing.

Ok. So you have a pastor who hates Gay people so much that he wants his own flock to have less redress when fired for being Black.

He's not like that gay pastor in texas who, for the sake of putting his church on the map, tried to frame whole foods, if that's what you're getting at..

Why do you have to hate Gay people to want people to use facilities according to their actual gender? Do you actually feel a boy who identifies as a female but has the genitalia of a male should share a high school locker room with girls? How far do you feel this should go? Should they permit the same boy to participate in female sports even if he is at a physical advantage?
This doesn't have as much to do with hatred as it does with common sense and the understanding of the potential issues that are a result of social engineering. I don't care how they identify and I'm not for taking any basic rights away from them.
I just don't understand why this is considered discrimination. They are not being denied use of a restroom, only being asked to use the appropriate one.

Hb2 was about allowing people to fire people for being LGBT. And to make it harder for Blacks to sue for discrimination. And to prevent living wage laws. And to humiliate Trans persons. And to ensure that state funded agencies continue to deny services and employment to LGBT persons. And to allow for the denial of any restroom access for Trans persons.

Lol. Says you. But if true, why not allow people to sue if it did happen

I'll admit I haven't read the North Carolina legislation and I would disagree with specifically targeting a group of people. Having said that you didn't answer my questions.
The restroom thing is not a big deal in my opinion. If a male is dressed like a female and goes into a female bathroom then chances are no one is going to know the difference nor care unless they decide to bring it to others attention. But when you advance the agenda to high school locker rooms where there are no stalls then to me it's an entirely different issue.

When you lose the support of country music stars you can pretty much figure you've lost, black pastors or not.

Yeah, most of it's just pop now.
