Boy and I thought Jim Crow comparisons were out in left field..

No folks...He knew exactly what he was doing by using that term. He believes that there was an intentional spread of AIDS to kill Homosexuals...thus..the holocaust comment. THAT is what he meant.

Wow, that's a new one if true. Has there ever been a holocaust where the folks tried to kill each other rather than an outside force?

Cisgender means a man knows he's a man and a woman knows she's a woman. In common language it means normal.

I think Cis is Latin for "same" Trans is Latin for "totally confused and bewildered"

NC and Common Sense Win Round One!

Quote:Republican State Senate President Phil Berger said: “Today the Obama administration admitted what we have said all along — that their threat to withhold funding and bully North Carolinians into accepting their radical argument that men have a ‘civil right’ to use women’s bathrooms and shower facilities would have to be settled in court. We appreciate the Republican members of North Carolina’s U.S. House delegation for standing up for common sense and making clear that any attempt to withhold federal funding is without legal merit and would be an unprecedented overreach by the federal government.”

Well the next step is Obama's DOE is going to tell schools they have to allow confused kids to go to the restroom (and presumably locker room) of their choice or risk losing federal funds.

Already done, though there is some confusion on my part. If the admin and DOE will wait for court rulings before threatening to withhold funds from NC, why the announcement earlier yesterday about doing the same thing to school systems nationwide?

Seven weeks after 2 was passed, cancellations keep on coming.

Today, Maroon 5 cancelled both their NC shows.
The Ironman has announced that 200 of their participants have decided to compete in another state.

This week Itzak Perlman cancelled a show with the North Carolina Symphony.

This story has legs. Long legs. Strong legs.

And if you think this is a winning cause for the democrats, look at what just happened in this story:

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/05/2...tcmp=hpbt4

LGBT activists contacted this college and demanded the Hampden-Sydney College fire Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin from teaching there. The General had joked that if a man had walked into a restroom that his daughter was in, he wouldnt need money for a sex change operation after he got done with him. LGBT community got butthurt, and demanded he get fire. The school did just that, by not renewing his contract.

6 hours later, they offered him another contract after the leadership of the school faced intense backlash on the decision to fire him.

Hampden-Sydney is considered an extremely anti Gay college, even more so than Liberty.

It wouldn't surprise me that Hampden Sydney would endorse violence against Trans persons. They've been unconcerned with Boykin's actions and statements in the past.

It's none of their damn business as HS is a private college.

doesn't pretty much every institution of higher education receive federal funding either directly or indirectly and thus can't really get away with this kind of BS?

Do they? If so how? From students' financial aid or directly? And what are these "anti gay" accusations exactly? Surely Tom has never exagerrated.

I would be interested in these answers before discussing further.

Just google Princeton Review LGBT Unfriendly. Hampden Sydney features prominently on the "Most Anti-Gay College" list. Year after year after year after year. They've been number one a few times.

They are certainly a private school, but are not immune from criticism. And Boykin is a problematic association at best.

No they arent. They pulled a stupid stunt such as not renewing this honorable man for his teaching position, and the criticism was loud and immediate.

Where was this generals speech rights? What he said didn't have anything to do with the college he was just stating a fact about protecting his daughter.
