That leaves with what one scholie left to give? Do we go guard, swingman or small forward?

I don't doubt you Sam, but to pull an EMU Steve source is someone on twitter?

Agree.

1). Toney simply can't play all the minutes,

2). I assume this kid is quicker than Toney,

3). Bond won't need to slide over to the PG position (and he can't play 40 minutes / game either).

IF we get a nice SF, I'll predict we will be the deepest team in the MAC West and maybe... (MAC. I was going to say Washtenaw County, but I haven't had any 90 proof stuff yet... 03-drunk 03-lmfao).

I count two. Lost Naz, EA, Price, and Stone. Gained Steele and Lindsey.

Remaining scholarships should go to the best freshmen EMU can get, regardless of position.

Hoping for a high school SG/combo guard and a wing. 4-year players at both spots would be ideal, since our depth at the wing is pretty well shored up for 2017.

FWIW, here is the UDM fan forum's thread (page 20) of their knowledge of UDM targets, including a number whom EMU reportedly has offered or has or had interest...

http://udtitanbasketball.freeforums.net/...ng?page=20

EMU was listed seven times...

But LWH wasn't on scholarship last year and I assume he will be for the upcoming year. We tend to forget that Madray and LWH are really in this recruiting class since they will be eligible to play.

I'm not sure you are correct on LWH. I believe he went on scholarship after first semester and redshirted (which turns out to be one semester).

I don't know if Perry is on scholarship. I don't know if Jones will have earned a scholarship.

Lee, Bond, JT4, Mangum, Nobles, Toney, Madray, LWH. + Steele (9) + Lindsey (10).

For a player with one season of eligibility left like Jones, if he looked good during his sitout year and a scholarship is open, it would be nice to give it to him for his one year.

So I count three scholarships open with possibilities or giving say one to someone already on the team.

Can you be on scholarship while being academically ineligible for the first semester? I don't think they allow partial scholarships a the Div I level for hoops.

Players can go on scholarship at mid-year I believe.

What I don't know is this:

Player X is on scholarship at State U and transfers at mid-year to Directional U.

Can he be on scholarship for one semester at each school. I think so.

Best case I can think is Martez Walker from Texas and Oakland. I believe he wasn't given a scholarship spring semester (2015) at OU because he was essentially on 'probation' because of issues at Texas and would be evaluated for a scholarship this year. At least that was the stated reason. I don't know if OU had a scholarship to give.

He was a walk-on whom I doubt will see many minutes next year.

Might be the type of player who could parlay his year at EMU to a D-II scholarship where he could get some $ and PT.

EMU Steve and Twitter (again). :)

FWIW, Turner was NOT listed on the BG page of Verbalcommits.com.

http://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/bowling-green

I'd guess a late recruit. Turner's recruitment was so far under the radar it was amazing...

FWIW(2): The UDM fan forum did not show a BG offer for Turner:

"Reported Titan Offer:

1. Justin Turner, 6-3 PG, Detroit Renaissance. Boston College, Bowling Green, *Buffalo, *Central Michigan, Cleveland State, *Eastern Michigan, *Fairfield, Iowa State, *Kent State, *Louisiana Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, *Northern Kentucky, Northwestern, *Oakland, Ohio State, Rice, St. Bonaventure, Temple, *Toledo, *Western Michigan, Xavier."
