Sad story in Austin
A beautiful 18-year-old freshman dance student at UT was murdered Sunday night in Austin in a random assault. Apparently, they may have already arrested the man responsible, and he might be a 17-year-old homeless teen.

Just a horrible story.

He was apparently circling around on his bicycle for about an hour. Must have been looking for a victim. It was only 200 yards from the dorms, but is the darkest, least active part of campus when there's no football game. The alumni center being at that spot (only building between the creek and the road) along with heavy vegetation make it secluded.

RE: Sad story in Austin
It is always a terrible tragedy when someone is murdered at such a young age but why is this particular story so important?

Probably an agenda by the OP.

No agenda. I've got two young daughters who will be in college shortly. Austin is a nice town and although I'm not a fan of UT athletics, I hate to see a story like this rock that town. Plus I have friends who have young kids at Texas.

so important that someone thought it deserved one of thousands of threads on a relatively meaningless comment board?

I have 2 college kids. One a beautiful young woman like this one. One of my nieces goes to UT. My other niece goes to A&M. Lots of their friends whom I know well go to UT and places like it. I have many friends and family who have daughters at UT and places like it.

I care a lot about it.

For some reason, it is getting a lot of national press.

This was the first homicide on campus since the nut went up in the tower and started shooting people back in 1965.

Here is the animal that has been arrested for this murder...

Here is Haruka Weiser, the beautiful young woman with her life in front of her that was murdered..

So where is blacklivesmatter condemning this murder. Where are their protests. Where is Eric Holder, Obama, Sharpton and Jesse Jackson condemning this murder. Looks like an Obama son did this murder. My anger is out of control with BLM and Obama when they only rant when it fits their agenda. If convicted, this animal needs to be hung in the town square. I have a beautiful young daughter like Haruka and I would go to any lengths to end the life of anyone that took her life. The left will pay no attention to this and say the murderer was a victim of micro aggressions and white privilege.

What I don't understand about BLM is why they only make a big deal when its a thug that gets killed by police. There are innocent Black men who have been killed by police and there's barely any notice. Why is Michael Brown their poster child?

You noticed that also. Blacks murdered by blacks and whites murdered by blacks are unimportant and ignored by BLM. Only blacks killed by police or whites matter to them so they can exploit those murders for political gain. That p.o.s. Obama sides with them in doing it.
