Because he's black? I don't follow. He's nothing like Ruff.

Don't quite understand how you don't see it. He does has a little bit of Ruff in him. And not because he is black. (Can't believe you said that) His mannerism and his personality is similar to Ruff. Go back and listen to press conference when he was hired. Lot of similarities are there.
So basically you are saying that all black people have similar mannerisms and personalities. Perhaps it is white thing because I see no similarities between them.

It is a much needed jolt into a stagnant football program. Old staffs energy wore off around year three.

What? Explain. Ruff's recruiting and team records were good for most years. Holding a helmet above your head and acting like you are motivating the furniture sales force before the doors open at 9 means nothing.

I can stand there and do the same thing but it will have nothing to do with winning games.

Yeah ruff was killing it with recruiting ranks in the 80s and 90s. Lol
Ruff's average star percentage number's were in the 79-81 range each year he coached. The vast majority of this years recruits are Ruff's, some are Coach Mo's. Last year we had a higher ranking percentage than this year. Last year we were 81 this year 80. So he was doing very good for ECU.

No I'd rather not get into an argument with a Ruff Hugger. That was just my opinion. Lol I just said he had much more energy and I liked that. I mean we ARE trying to sell something. He's trying to sell ECU to everyone and anyone that will listen.

And yea you could stand there and do the same thing, so could I, and anyone else for that matter. But we're not football coaches so what's your point?
So I am a Ruff hugger because I think Coach Mo is acting like a used car salesman in this video? If Mo can coach I don't care what he does or how he acts. But not of the show that Coach MO is putting on means anything without results. I hope he does well. In fact, I hope he becomes the best head coach ECU has ever had. I want to win.I don't care what the style is, just win. I am not however, going to confuse energy with winning.

Yea you are obviously. You interjected Ruff into the discussion when all I said was "staff". Hell that includes what, 12 or 13 other coaches? I am, as I'm sure many others are, sick of Ruff lovers bringing his name up in every discussion. Then on top of that you defend an 81st and 80th ranked recruiting class. Give me a break, that is not good for ECU, that is not good for anyone unless your maybe the Idaho freaking Vandals.

No one in these three pages ever said anything about energy directly correlating to wins, so you interjected that as well. The whole theme was his energy was evident in his press conference and this video. And apparently it worked cause this new staff got 10 commits after they were hired, TEN! That is almost as many as were committed before the old staff left. And did this in two months, and 7 of them were 3 star guys. Apparently his "used car salesman" pitch works.

I follow ECU recruiting very closely. This staff did not get 10 new recruits in a month. They picked up three new ones on top of what Ruff and company had already brought in to the fold.

I was not talking about 80'th place, I was talking about overall percentage of star numbers. Last year ECU had a higher over all rating percentage than this year. But since the majority of 2016 were Ruff and company recruits it does not matter. What I am saying is that in terms of rating percentage, what number we finished on a 1-150 scale, has been okay.

Calm down about the Ruff stuff.

Wow. This is very disapointing from a mod. He didn't say anything like that. This is something a classic BLM hippie would say.

This post is just flat out stupid and illogical

They got around 8 or 9 new commits. Most had only one or two fbs offers though

Baruna, just for the sake of accuracy...

Montgomery and staff offered, Purvis, Purvis, Howe, Bailey, Turner, Ramseur, and Smith. That's more than three players. And a total of 10 signed after Montgomery was hired in December.

That's actually more accurate. Kids are being brought in for a weekend stay in exchange for a presentation.

Also, having been a used car salesman at Automax of Greenville, I can say that Scottie Mo is more like a franchise dealership GM than a used car manager.

And you have the ability to make that judgement...based upon what? Id say Mo is very much in the same vein as Tomlin. He picked up a lot from his time coaching under him and has even been compared to him by those that know him.

All I kept hearing from friends is that we lost our recruiting edge in NC. That was BS and the fact that we signed 11 NC players says so. This was a transition year. He did pretty good for the short time availed. Next year I expect him to kill it.

We're talking purely mannerisms.
Scottie Mo may have picked up some Xs and Os insight from Tomlin but his delivery is a lot more like Ruff

I like Ruff, so I don't see the problem.

ECU just announced signing of place punter/place kicker Jake Verity. Looks like Mo understands how important the kicking game is and is willing to put a full scholarship on the line to prove it. This is a risk..but..one worth taking if Verity is as good as his kicking school(Chris Sailer Kicking) claim. They rated him the #9 punter and #22 place kicker.

This could turn out to be Scotties best recruit in the entire class.

RE: New ECU HC Scottie Montgomery is very excited about new signees (video)

Looks like Mo understands how important the kicking game is and is willing to put a full scholarship on the line to prove it. This is a risk..but..one worth taking if Verity is as good as his kicking school(Chris Sailer Kicking) claim. They rated him the #9 punter and #22 place kicker.

This could turn out to be Scotties best recruit in the entire class.

It sure would be nice to have a dependable kicker. I'm tired of being surprised/relieved when we make one.
