Check out coach Norvell on twitter. Guy is using social media in a great way for the Tigers.

VT needs to remember which combination is best: so-so rankings and superior preparation, motivation, and discipline VS highly ranked classes and people who have no business trying to run a program.

Porter's classes were more highly ranked than Fuente's........and they got pummeled like 47-3 by the likes of Arky St.

Give me the guy who knows how to push the right buttons and find the diamonds in the rough over the guy who can get the more highly acclaimed players, but doesn't know what to do with them.

Half of porters class never made it to campus. Porter also was a position coach. Mike Norvell and Justin Fuente were OC and the HC right hand man. They had prep in running a team.

Half is a little over the top but he did lose some as non-Qs. JF did benefit greatly from Porters talent.

Benefit greatly???!!!
He inherited an ABSOLUTE disaster!!! Only 55 scholarship players and FOUR of those were kickers!!!
Norvell will benefit greatly, but let's get real about the Porter years.

Porter never had a chance. He walked into a mess. Rey Dempsey was program killer worse than any coach before or since. What an idiot.

Especially when the first play from scrimmage under Porter we get called for an illegal formation.

Some trying to detract from "its a great day to like Tiger football" day.

Let the past go. Consider it when you are making decisions in the future.

To put it bluntly.. Why sign him?

We brought in quite a few WRs and don't really see the need. Would have liked to see that spot go to a TE or OT

He's a local athlete that runs a 4.4 40. Surely we can find somewhere to put him.

Norvell will benefit greatly, but let's get real about the Porter years.

Porter recruited some absolute studs, especially on defense, that stuck around and made our 2014 team really special. Let's face facts.

Only TWO of those absolute studs were rated three stars. And it's very close to say half of his classes never saw the field. Facts are a very pesky thing.

I am VERY excited. About the present and future of the Tigers. Last post on the past, but fact twisting for an agenda is stupid.

If you don't know about him why do you question his ability to fill a need the coach's obviously saw?
