The toughest division in college football

Lmao

Not the toughest maybe, but it definitely turned out be as tough as any other division out there. I could make an argument for 2nd toughest behind the SEC West.

It wasn't a hit piece by a guy who regularly takes shots at Rutgers?

Rutgers has been delivering easy material for decades....not sure this guy has treated Rutgers with that much undeserved attention.

Going 1-7 in conference play with Rutgers schedule isn't like going 1-7 in most P5 divisions. They had probably the toughest conference schedule of any FBS team.

What part of the blog post didn't you understand? It showed the abject losing of both BC and Rutgers in both FB and BB this year. Facts are Facts. Why are you focusing on just Rutgers FB?

I understand the stat he is pointing out but i also know that this guy and the Starledger and other NJ papers love taking jabs at the Rutgers athletic department. Things other state schools never have to deal with.

Meh, BC has had 8 winning seasons out of 11 it had played in the ACC for FB. How has SU FB done during this time?

Like everything else, things go in cycles, despite what bloggers with an agenda would have you believe.

Well Cuse is 2-1 versus BC in FB while in the ACC and lead the all time series in both sports by wide margins. Stick to hockey...you are horrible in both sports right now.

Wow! You cite a 2-1 head-to-head as your example? Actually, during the 11 year period BC has been in the ACC, it has played SU 4 times and the schools are split at 2-2. Should I post the W-L records of both BC and SU since BC has been in the ACC?

Fact: BC has had 8 winning seasons out of 11 since it has been in the ACC. Syracuse has had just THREE winning seasons in that same 11 year period.

Stick to basketball, since Syracuse has a winning season in FB a little more often than the Country does the census every ten years.

Eagle...Diamond Ferri just scored again.

You should look to the future....we made a great FB hire and sit in the Top 50 in recruiting (Rivals)...you lost your best coach...and your HC is on the hot seat and you have crap facilities. Your Basketball team is quite possibly the worst BB team in the P5 and you draw flies to games. BC is a friggin embarrassment to the ACC.

RE: BC and Rutgers---Ouch
BC has had some success, a powerhouse in either sport, no, but BC has been to a bowl every year from 1999-2015 save three years. Basketball may be another story, but based on how more talent from the Boston area that makes it to d1 is in basketball rather than football, there is likely some hope for basketball in that regard. The biggest challenges for them in my opinion is a lack of fans who do not connect with the university (most people in Boston are indifferent, or at best fair-weather fans unless they have a BC connection,) and a lack of high school football talent in the area.

No other division had a three headed beast like UM, MSU and OSU.

SEC West

Alabama 14-1 National Champs, beat the tar out of Big 10 East Champs in Cotton bowl

Ole Miss 10-3 Sugar Bowl champs

Arkansas 8-5 Liberty Bowl champs

LSU 9-3 Texas Bowl champs

Mississippi State 9-4 Belk Bowl champs

Texas A&M 8-5

Auburn 7-6 Birmingham Bowl champs

65-27 record, 6-1 in bowls, National Championship, every team in the SEC West won at least 7 games.

And while they didn't have a three headed beast they also didn't have the dregs of college football at the bottom like Rutgers and Maryland.

Especially considering the fact that you pretty much could add Syracuse in the conversation as well as they have done absolutely nothing in the ACC in football and their basketball has been trending downward since they joined.

Bold: That's pretty funny.

That said, I am cautiously optimistic about the Orange moving forward.

Beasts don't get beat 38-0.

Nebraska ended the season with a losing record.

Those are the kind of arguments that the Rutgers of old made.

Also, as for toughest division in college football, Jeff Sagarin has the Big Ten East at #5.

I'd say Cuse's upside is quite a bit higher than BC...BC did well last decade...this decade not so much. However, the point of the article was the current year.

I don't disagree about the upside comment, but BC hasn't really been a dumpster fire. Aside from an off season here and there, they've been somewhere between good and average in football since joining.

BC basketball has been pretty weak, but, this year aside, they're generally not absolutely abysmal.

So, BC is an embarrassment to the ACC because it had a down year this year in FB? One of only three down years out of eleven in the ACC? Meanwhile, SU FB has been terrible pretty much EVERY year during that same period.

I could go on trying to debate your nonsensical points but arguing with nut jobs is sorta like trying to teach calculus to a pig. All you do is frustrate yourself and annoy the pig.

Embarrassment--->not one conference win in FB or BB this year. You brought up the past...the article clearly was about this year.

You can't argue otherwise that this year has been abysmal in both sports.

Let me make this simple for you. ONE YEAR of poor results in FB, due largely to crushing injuries, does not erase more than a decade and a half of strong results despite what nitwit bloggers or posters contend.

Now a team that has poor results MOST EVERY YEAR, IS an embarrassment, IMO.

Not too hard to understand, really.

My team has been playing 4th and 5th string QBs in big games for two years. Hope neither team has to go through that this year.
