Bro, I have a day job. I don't have time to approve all your posts! Other moderators can approve your posts as well, not just me........
you are posting in the same threads that I am posting in. How do you have time for that?
I tried to explain a couple of things the other day, besides the fact that I think all of us work 9 to 5 plus have families and responsibilities.
- Last Friday evening was the beginning of a 3-day weekend. You can't be guaranteed that any of the 4 moderators will log onto HLoH at that time.
- Also, 96% of the time I'm logging on using my old Droid. To approve a post, I have to:
(1) click on the icon that has a triangle with exclamation point (5 seconds to open).
(2) open up your message (5 seconds to open).
(3) read your message (10 seconds to read).
(4) click on the approve button (5 seconds to open).
(5) click off the notify poster button (3 seconds to uncheck).
(6) click on the "Yes" button when it says "do you really want to approve this message" (5 seconds to open).
(7) complete (0 seconds).
And those are minimum times. Unless I upgrade my Droid, which I don't want to do if it's just for speeding up approvals.
So, that's 33 seconds... per message... sometimes there are 8 to 10 message from you in the queue, plus 1 or 2 random Dayton guys... holy crap, for 10 messages it takes over 5 minutes, and this is almost every time I log on over there, 10 messages in the queue... sometimes I just want to surf the HLoH for a minute, get the headlines, maybe click on one thread, scan for a minute, then leave... sometimes I don't feel like losing 5 minutes of my lunch break to approve a dozen messages.
I would recommend posting once an hour at most. Take all the points that you want to make, and put it in one longer message. If you're having a rapid fire back and forth conversation, then PM the other poster.
Or better yet, post less in general, gather your thoughts, and start a daily thread over there ("Stever's Cup of Joe" or "Even Stever" or something... I'll even let you steal those name ideas from me). Have 12 bullet points, post the thread as 1 item, then sit back for 6 hours. Return to read any responses, compile a list of more bullet points, and submit 1 larger response.
As far as Palm, etc, I could give two farts about any of those brackets guys. Like I said in the past, I get more accuracy from my barber Frankie in Pawtucket.
