I'm sure you've read all the same commentary I have on RP. Everyone knows how to fix it as they sit at home and watch the games but aren't working with the kids on a daily basis.

We had a crappy year. After 4 darned good years that hurts but it also demonstrates how far the program has come and what the fans now expect. Pre-Hud this would have been just another year of Ragin Cajun football, nothing to get hyped about.

As I've said multiple times, I think we're seeing just how good a qb Terrance Broadway was and are also seeing firsthand that O-line really took a hit with last years seniors leaving. It's on the coaching staff to use our players to their best of their talent and to recruit players to fill the slots left by graduation.

I'm no where near giving up on this coaching staff though next year we'd better see some significant improvement or there's going to be a lot of heat applied to a Belt coach making $1,000,000 a year.

Well, next year will certainly be very telling indeed.

But, in the meantime we have MBB, WBB, baseball and softball to look forward to. I sincerely think that it is going to be a record breaking year for all four programs.

Still a great time to be in Cajun Nation!

Honestly, with what I saw Coach Robe accomplish last year, and the kids we've signed this year, anything less than a National Title for the baseball team and I'll be disappointed.
Whoa there....better hope I don't report you to RP, lol.

I'll be surprised if:

1. Both MBB & WBB don't dance.
2. If we don't host regionals and SR's for both baseball and softball.
3. We don't make it pretty high up in the cws for both of them.

But in any event it's going to be a great 6-7 months. GEAUX Cajuns!

MBB has a lot of work to do, they're not playing well overall in my opinion. WBB, yeah, they could dance.

Yeah, obviously baseball should host a regional and super-regional if I believe we can win the whole enchilada.

Softball, dunno, what's Lotief's health looking like?

Yeah, not overly impressed yet with MBB, but like I think they'll come around to win the championship, but how much further? The WBB is showing beyond the men, IMHO.

Lets just say from what I've heard loitef's health is very fragile. :-(. Not sure how that will affect the season, but I'm still hopeful for great outcomes for both. Maybe we don't host, but still get to the wcws.

The rain kept many away, just like it did at the TCU vs Baylor game the night before. Rain always affects attendance for everybody, including ULL. As was evident at your last rainy home game.

As far as owning north Louisiana goes, we own north Louisiana every bit as much as ULL owns south Louisiana, which I admit, isn't saying much.

You left out (don't know why) the most important part....a game for the conference west division title against a rival with an equally good record.

How many fans did USM bring to the game?

I'd guess around 1500. Considering the weather, I think USM had a great turnout. Their team is on a roll right now, and that tends to help bring out the fans. We seem to be going the opposite direction, as we haven't played well in our last three games. I'm not sure what the problem is, but all of a sudden, we can't block anybody and we can't score. Sound familiar?

Yeah, sounds just like your team of two years ago.

Not hardly. Two years ago our team had no QB, kind of like ULL's team this year. We sat at home during bowl season that year, but we'll be bowling this year. We may end up in the New Orleans Bowl, probably against Ark St. You should come. You could watch two teams that destroyed ULL this year face off against each other. It'd be fun.

You know we're going to have to beat you guys simply because you blew out the Cajuns...right?

Sometimes, points must be made at the National level.

Also, unrelated to the New Orleans Bowl, I am not one to forgive La Tech for program issues, but if the Weather in Ruston was anything similar to what it was like in Arkansas yesterday, it's very understandable no fans showing up. We've had 5 plus inches of rain since Friday afternoon, and it's in the 40's. There isn't a team in College Football that wouldn't have attendance issues in that weather.

Since Ruston is in Southern Arkansas, yeah, the weather was probably the same. Didn't stop those USM fans though from making that long drive in hazardous weather to see their team. Afterall, the western division title was on the line. Win that game and LahTech probably goes to the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Now they get to not support their team in New Orleans as a SunBelt rep stomps another mudhole in 'em.

I thought you guys owned N. Louisiana?

19K???? I'll be darn if there were 15K in that stadium....half of which were the SMU fans. Not to mention ZERO students, etc., on the student side. And it wasn't even raining the whole time, smh.

But yet for the ULM game, during which there was a driving rain for hours before the game, and continuing throughout it, in a very bad season for us, the @ruston folks had the gall to mock us for a low attendance. Yet, here they are for a possible division championship, a good season and their brand new EZ project was half-filled at best.

And then there is the very stagnant condition of their budget: wins don't do much for you if folks don't buy your tickets, merchandise, ads, etc., which is clearly reflected in the ltu-R budget. Too bad a good FB team doesn't have a more appreciative fan base.

La Tech recently announced a 5 year/$3.025 Million deal with Adidas. What is ULL's deal with Adidas again?

Next subject.
No, the same subject, lol. Your fans do not buy your tickets, yiur merchandise, etc.

And why not answer my question??? I thought you only showed up when ltu-R is mentioned? No one mentioned ltu-R on the thread, yet here you are.

Seems like the last folks in the world who should be out trash-talking today are the @ruston folks. Assuming you guys accept a bowl bid this year it will be in the lowly Nola bowl. And it will be a beautiful thing watching app state or aState beat you little pups down but good when you do.

You're right. Nobody said anything bad about Tech. I wasn't trash talking Hudspeth, I was just commenting that I think the ongoing NCAA investigation would prevent him from getting a look from other schools. I think it would have that effect on anybody.
There is no ongoing NCAA investigation

And it sure didn't stop the ltu-R idiots from ragging us endlessly for the ULM game. Again, yesterday's rain in s. Ark was NOTHING compared to what we saw for the ULM game. Talk about miserable, lol.

The ltu-R hillbillies had even posted a pic of the attendance on the @ruston site. I mean they have to be the most super-obsessed, jealous, petty fan base in the entire world.

But they have that big lawsuit to soothe their little feelings, lol.

True, and thanks for catching that.

Not that it'll help to point out facts to that nest of hillbilly fools from s. Ark: they cannot understand them.

Hud-speak.

Here are his comments on the performance of redshirt freshman Jordan Davis for the Cajuns lone touchdown drive late in the game.

Quote:“They’re probably playing prevent defense, and they’ve probably got some twos ... in the game and they’re just playing bend-but-don’t-break in that situation,” Hudspeth said. “But nevertheless, he still did what he was supposed to do.

“He was 7-of-7 and performed very well. If he hadn’t have done that against a prevent defense and twos, then you really would be concerned. He performed like he was supposed to perform.”

Accurate and honest? Yeah, I think so. But when it comes to motivating 18-20 year old kids and having to shine a turd (a loss), almost all coaches revert to coach-speak.

Thanks for getting this back on track. I see nothing wrong with that at all.

Actually, this is the first year I've seen anyone getting after him for excuse-making, probably because he generally didn't need to do so before.

Yeah, we blew any chance we had of going back to the Heart of Dallas Bowl for sure. But as I recall, the last couple of times you predicted that a Sun Belt team would stomp a mud hole in us, it didn't quite work out that way. Trust me, nobody at Tech EVER thinks that ANY team will be a pushover. App St, GA Southern, and Ark St all have excellent teams. Tech would have to play well to win against any one of them.

Trust me, nobody at Tech EVER thinks that ANY team will be a pushover. App St, GA Southern, and Ark St all have excellent teams. Tech would have to play well to win against any one of them.

Could you please elaborate on the bolded part? I ask because if you're making the claim that I predicted for either of our last two games that the Cajuns would stomp a mud hole in LahTech, then you're wrong once again. I say that with confidence because I rarely make a prediction for the Cajuns.

Remember, you have a bad habit of attributing comments to posters that never made them. Feel free to prove me wrong though.

“The roles are reversed,” Cajuns coach Mark Hudspeth said

“I (told) our team, ‘If they can come and beat us at our place last year, when we were really good and (had) won six or seven in a row (six) … then I definitely know we’ve got the team to go up there and compete well and have an opportunity to win."

“Very few times have we not been picked as favorites,” Hudspeth said of his reign. “But … just because you’re not don’t mean you can’t."

Post Game
“You don’t feel good about it, because you feel like your defense played good enough to win the game,” Hudspeth said.

No unwaddfing necessary.
“You’re talking about a team (Appalachian State) that’s averaging 40 points a game, almost. And, for the most part, it was a 21-point game.”

App: 401 Total Offense / 227 Rushing / 204 Passing / 25 First Downs / 6 Yds Per Play Ave

Had it not been for Lamb's pitch to nobody on a 1st down play at the Cajun 21, the Apps would most likely have scored 35 - considering we were 3 for 3 on Red Zone chances anyway. OK Hud, you held us to 5 less points.

Unwad your panties, he is saying our defense played well enough to give us a shot. Our offense did nothing. A defense can only hold so long, if your offense keeps giving the ball back immediately your defense will eventually give up some plays. Not everything is a intent to down grade the opponent. Our defense played well considering they got no help from the offense...which your defense had a part in.

No unwadding necessary. Simply pointing out your coach has a history of this stuff.

Of what? Call out our offense when they almost get shutout? Saying that he thought our defense played well enough?

And btw BR, do you really want to claim ownership of this comment?

Didn't stop those USM fans though from making that long drive in hazardous weather to see their team. Afterall, the western division title was on the line. Win that game and LahTech probably goes to the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Now they get to not support their team in New Orleans as a SunBelt rep stomps another mudhole in 'em.

OK. You're right. I should have said "many Cajun fans" instead of saying "you". I give you credit for having had the good sense not to make predictions about our games. I didn't make any either. Just like I won't make one if we end up playing a SBC team in the New Orleans Bowl.
