You guys have no rivalries, its short sighted thinking you wouldn't be better off with another instate school in your conference.. An ISU/NIU football gane and ISU/NIU basketball would be your highest attended game almost every year..

FCS... No one here is thinking twice about a teacher college, w 128 years of irrelevancy. Better schools in the state that have brought excitement, like EIU in 2013 with a NFL highly drafted QB, or WIU next year possibly at US Cellular, teams that have a winning history. Stop trying to make make Ill State happen, it's never going to.

Plus if you were more focused on your schoolwork, instead of trolling an NIU board about a 128 year irrelevant program, you wouldn't be such a GOTTDAMN peasant, and actually earn a descent living.

Right there say all one needs to know about you, simply no clue what a successful athletic program needs to do well..its that thinking there that keeps your athletic depaartment basically at the FCS level.

ISU beat both EIU and WIU this year by the way... NIU is also a teacher college (but not as good as ISU).. and right now, 80% of ISU fans want to stay in the MVC as its a better conference in the non football sports.. my thinking is that NIU needs the MVFC to jump up to FBS, they can join that group of schools, develop a fan base and THEN thinking about moving up if at all possible.. with no fan base, the bigger conferences want no part of NIU..

NO ONE in AMERICA WATCHES OR CARES ABOUT F C S.... I didn't even read any of what you wrote. Your comments are unwelcomed here, since you have NO validity!!! Accept your role as a little brother, no one cares about, plus you stadium is tiniest besides EIU, and its newly rennovated. NO FBS for you, sorry FUCKBOY!

Your basetball team is averaging about 750 a game.. football is amongst lowest in FBS attendence... seems that at a sub watchable level.

Yeah, no one cares at all what an FCS fan has to say about any of our sports programs. We get that you have little brother syndrome so you feel the need to come on our boards and try to rile us up and make us care about Illinois State. But the fact of the matter is that none of us ever given Illinois State a single thought...ever. We don't care about your basketball team, we CERTAINLY don't care about your football team, and we really couldn't care less at what you perceive is good academics. But hey, keep on posting if you like, just know that you're the one coming on our boards to try to get some sort of recognition, not the other way around. Dogs eat birds.

Keep sticking to that story, and NIU football is much better than the New England Patriots, although I think the Patriots special teams could be better than NIU.

USNWR has ISU rated along with P5 schools.. NIU not even in the top 200..

Your basketball team drew 500 fans on Sat, that same night our HS basketball scrimmage had about 400

Your POS degree from a "top rated" newspaper ranking school obviously didn't help you, none. Reality check, Ill State improved rankings isn't going to get you paid higher, trash!

You are way too obsessed about what's going on w. NIU. Is it because Victor E. F@cked your wife?

I don't need to be paid higher, I already make about 50% more than the average NIU grad..

ACT average score for freshmen last year..

ISU- 24.5
NIU- 21.7

ACT averages don't matter for grad school and still won't get you paid higher, peasant! So keep pretending, and feeding your ego by believing it does.

Teacher's school and will be nothing more.

NIU's brand has been watched by more EYES on the TV than Ill State if you combined all their sports in it's entire history. Your comparison sucks, and you're running out of ****** things to talk about, little brother.

The "little brother"comments are the funniest since ISU is the better school..

ISU is the better undergrad school, that does matter to grad school..

And the ONLY reason anyone ever sees NIU football is because they are during the week because nobody would choose them over real FBS football on the weekends..and even then, they draw tiny viewership with mostly people having those games on as background noise..

What people DO see is the academic rankings by ISU, thats why more and more Illinois kids are choosing ISU over schools like Iowa, Indiana and Kansas..

The good news is, we destroyed Eureka. Scheduling gets better as the team does.

Exactly. There would be cause for concern if NIU squeaked out a 6 pt win. They crushed a far less superior opponent like they should have, its holding serve. The big game to gage where this team is at will be a tough road trip to Idaho. And people should not forget just how long and insane the MAC schedule is this year with all the depth. NIU is not playing for an at large spot and SOS means nothing. I don't like the schedule either but if there was ever a time for it, getting the youth experience, this was the time to do it.

I hit the panic button with scheduling and direction of fan support if we see a similar schedule next year. You cant double up a home schedule like that.

There is now way there were 5000 people there on Saturday. Apparently you didn't watch the game. Regardless of the fact that they sold 5000 tickets, pictures show the real story:

You show a few pics from the 4th quarter of a blow out during a snow storm as your proof? ISU counts people that walk in the gates, not tickets sold.. I looked mid last week and the home side was pretty well sold out, thats about 7000 seats alone.. guy in the ticket office says they have sold 10K plus tickets the last two games despite no walk up sales due to weather.. and the first two games were in excess of 15K

Here is one early second quarter when the game was 3-0:

Since you obviously didn't watch the game, you can still watch it on ESPN3 Replay and see for yourself that there wasn't 5k people there. I don't care what the "guy in the ticket office" supposedly told you, but you are full of baloney. Get over your envy of our success and go back to your own board.

Sucess???? Crumbling academics, declining enrollment, more cuts on the way and an overall poor athletic department.. your "sucess" in football has been an NIT type success other than a fluke trip to the Orange Bowl..

Go the hell away dude, you're just a prick with nothing better to do with your time. You're the saddest man on the internet and that is saying something. You'd never be saying this crap to our faces or I guarantee to my face especially. I'm sure you feel real tough behind that keyboard, but you're just a sad little man. Now, go back to your own boards so you can talk about the upcoming FCS playoffs, I'm sure they are going to be a hoot this year.

Maybe playing Eureka is better than playing nobody, but not by much. That's about all I can say about them.

We're 3-0 vs D 1 and that's all that matters ATM.

Hey you want to hear a joke? Illinois State went I-AA so they could concentrate on basketball. And they haven't made the NCAA's since 1998, lol.

Scouting NIU's future opponents, a team on a very quick rise is the Cougars of Chicago State. Came into a game vs Illinois tonight with a 60 RPI, and if they upset the Illini they are projected to be a lower 40s RPI team. Only loss for Chicago State was to Iowa State this year. Cougars up by 12 with 12 to play

Illini stormed back and looks like they will hold on, but one thing to be sure, Chicago State is a quality opponent at home that NIU will have to play its best to be competitive with. This alleviates some of the concerns people had about strength of schedule

Although I'm sure Chicago State is good and based on the past few years they are probably better than NIU...a win against Illinois doesn't mean much in my book. They aren't exactly a good basketball team themselves.

I think the Illini are pretty bad this year. Don't overrate Chicago State, while they are head over heals better than Illinois State, that really isn't saying much.
