Saw on the news tonight that Watts will have some kind of press announcement tomorrow- any ideas on what it is? All they said that it was good for B'ham nothing else

Am I setting my sights too high?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the student center. It's supposed to open soon. Hopefully, it will be a new stadium. I like to set the bar low and be surprised when something really good happens.

PBjr has had an Ebenezer Scrooge moment and is building UAB a stadium out of his personal wealth.

Could it have something to do with the football building the BOT just approved.

My guess

New student center opening date.
Cherry blossoms will instead be Oaks to symbolize his strength
Cake party on December 2nd
A new Bryant Bank atmosphere and students rec area
He's retiring, in 2018

The student center doesn't look very close to opening. I drive past it every day.

Tone "the Bone" keep saying stadium... you all know that he is the ultimate insider.

It doesn't seem that the news would be advertising a press conference that plans to announce a building that everyone already knows about (student center). I would think this is something bigger

I noticed that. CBC kept getting it wrong too by saying UAB got a new stadium. Apparently with news these days accuracy doesn't matter.

Which station was it?

I contacted the Hill Student Center twitter page last Friday Nov. 6th about its opening date & they replied " It should be open in the next few weeks! Stay tuned!".

Could be the in-principle promise that UAB has committed to being a long term Tennant of a BJCC area stadium/facility

Ingram was just on WERC talking new football building.

I would bet it's follow-up to both the Football Facility & UAB Athletic Foundation news from last week.

Pretty sure it includes the phrase "strategic plan."

"Last week's resolution shows the BOT really loves us and has always been very supportive. We need all those who have pledged money to send in it so we can begin work on these much needed facilities. It is imperative we meet fundraising goals."
