Even with one of the easiest schedules in FBS, I don't see 3 more wins unless they can pull at a win at UTSA. Wouldn't be surprised if the FIU game is blowout

ODU *should* beat UTSA and UTEP. FIU, USM, and FAU - one win out of those and you're in (theoretically)

I would be willing to bet you didn't see an ODU win coming against Tech last year either, and you see how that turned out. By the way, we were bowl eligible at 6-6 last year.
You honestly don't see any possibility of ODU winning against UTEP and FAU at home? You don't see any chance of a win against an FIU team whose only wins are against UCF (0-7), UTEP (2-4) and FCS NC Central?
Yes, when it comes to the Monarchs, I am a homer, but I look at the remaining schedule and believe there are four very winnable games remaining -- not that the Monarchs will win all four, but it certainly not inconceivable that they will.

"Play tough at home?" Man, WKU made them look like a high school team. If they're middle of the pack, CUSA is AWFUL this year.
Well we are not WKU either.

That's kinda of deceiving though considering MTSU has played (Alabama, Illinois, Vandy, WKU already) 62nd SOS in FBS compare to Marshall 117.

I think Dawgxas has it about right. Our SOS is leaps and bounds better than Marshall's and although we probably get hammered by LaTech Saturday we will get the Herd after an off week and I think we are going to pop your bubble at our place!

not arguing with your rankings but ODU is still playing for this year. At 3-3 with 3 games remaining against squads you think should be building for next season means bowl eligibility is not completely out of the question.
They do this to us every week. We figured it out offensively. We'll let our boys do the rest! I say we win 4 more game, get a bowl bid and shut these guys up until next season when they find another reason to hate ODU.

Them WKU boys better be worried about the state of their team once the Tigers are done with them. Have you seen how LSU has been playing? Yeah! They are determined to get a spot in the playoff.

UTEP and FAU possible. That would be 5 wins for ODU. Im thinking ODU will split the the FAU and UTEP games so 4 wins. No for FIU, USM, WKU and probably not UTSA.

Fair assessment. ODU, with a very young team, is getting better as the season goes on. It will be interesting to see how the season finishes. Still lots of football left to play and while ODU isn't a top team they are not done playing for this year.

Worst-case scenario: No more wins, ODU goes 3-9, Bentley leaves the program and becomes a stud at another FBS program. Also sea-level rise explodes and ODU men's basketball has to forfeit the rest of its season and abandon campus permanently after a 25-0 start.
Best-case scenario: Wins against FAU and UTEP at home, UTSA and FIU on the road. WKU is a sleep-perchance-to-dream result. Southern Miss is too good and at home to seriously consider this season.
Best reasonable scenario: The aforementioned two home wins and a nail-biter of a win against either UTSA or FIU, bringing them to 6-6.
I wouldn't bet money on it but I wouldn't be pee-myself surprised if they got bowl-eligible this season.

RE: WEEK 7 Power Rankings
I really liked what Washington did on Saturday when Bentley was pulled, and trust that we will be significantly improved on offense. However, ODU is 0-6 vs. the spread this year, and opens a 14 point dog at FIU.
It would be a huge upset for us to leave Florida with a win, and doing so would open up legitimate bowl possibilities. However, the current cynicism towards ODU's bowl chances is realistic and well-founded. DW has given us some optimism with a 25-point second half after multiple games of brutal offense; just not sure how doing this against Charlotte translates when facing programs with greater than three years of football experience.
