A good rule of thumb is to just not use words to ultimately insult someone. I think our mother's pointed that out to us from time to time

some doctor is getting sued by the adoptive parents of a hermie b/c surgery was performed at birth (to define sexual orientation) w/o the ADOPTIVE parents or newborn's request.....
