RE: Massey Ratings Predictions-SBC
TXST I think will benefit from our bye before ULL, our OOC is bipolar this year and a week of focusing on us and our game might just be what we need to finally get that ULL win under our belts.

Florida State - One of the best in the country
Prarie View A&M - FCS
Southern Miss - on the rocks
Houston - on the rise
Bye
ULL

I am hoping for 8-4 but I won't be to upset with 7-5

#81 Louisiana Lafayette: 10-2 (8-0)
Losses: Kentucky, Louisiana Tech

#82 Georgia Southern: 10-2 (8-0)
Losses: West Virginia, Georiga

#91 Astate: 8-4 (7-1)
Losses: USC, Mizzou, Toldeo, La-La

#95 App State: 5-7 (3-5)
Losses: Clemson, Old Dominion, ULM, Ga Southern, Ark State, La La, South Al

#99: South Alabama: 5-7 (3-5)
Losses: Nebraska, San Diego State, NC State, Ark State, Texas State, La La, Ga Southern

#103: ULM: 6-7 (4-4)
lOSSES: Alabama, Georgia, Ga Southern, La La, Ark State, Texas State, Hawaii

#105: Texas State: 7-5 (5-3)
Losses: Florida State, Houston, La La, Ga Southern, Ark State

#118: Troy: 4-8 (3-5)
Losses: NC State, Wisconsin, South Al, Mississippi State, App State, ULM, Ga Southern, La La

#124: Idaho: 1-11 (0-8)
Win: Wofford

#125: New Mexico State: 2-10 (2-6)
Losses: Florida, UTEP, New Mexico, Ga Southern, Troy, Texas State, La La, Ark State, ULM

#126: Georgia State: 1-11 (0-8)
Win: Charlotte
This prediction makes no logical sense. They have us ranked number 7 in the conference with wins against numbers 5 and 6, and losses against numbers 1, 2, and 3. At worst we would be ranked 5th if they assume App St is better than us and 4th if they assume us better than App St.

Not to mention that they have Georgia Southern at 10-2 and only losses to an SEC and a Big 12 at number 82. And ULL at 10-2 with losses to an SEC and a rival at number 81.

If both of those teams go 10-2 with losses to the teams predicted here, they will both be top 40 teams easily and depending on how Georgia and west Virginia do this year, Georgia Southern could be ranked in the top 25.

Nice consolation prize... 04-rock

Unfortunately we aren't nice enough to always share the title like you guys 04-cheers

Christmas lights in the French Quarter were beautiful. 04-cheers I'll take that experience over getting a chunk of wood from KB.

Well I'm happy for you that you would be content with being 6-6 and playing in the nola bowl.

As was said, GS and ULL play each other so they can't both go 8-0 in conference. What a crock.

Also as was also stated, how can we be 7-5/5-3 and ranked behind 2 5-7/3-5 and a 6-7/4-4 team?

Idaho can air it out better than they are given credit for, if they keep their turnovers in check and have half a defense they will win.

Rankings are not conference wide but overall. You'd be 4th in the league if that happened, but might be 7th best in overall numbers because of the lack of a quality victory and your previous low ranking to begin the season because of bias.

It's the flaw in any ranking system like that. You have limited growth potential because you are not considered to be very good to begin with.

Georgia Southern plays the Cajuns this season? Not according to ESPN.

And this is a ranking, not a standing. So putting us behind 2 teams with an (at this time) tougher schedule makes total sense. If (for example) App state tanked this season and went 1-11, USA SOS would fall probably below ours because we don't play them (or Troy... name a team you feel like there).

I know this isn't a conference standing, but my point is that if you beat numbers 99 and 103 and your only losses are to numbers 17, 72, 81, 82, and 91. At worse, you would be somewhere between 91 and 99. You wouldn't be sitting at 105.

That's also assuming that everything else they have is correct. Including wins and losses and rating number. Which I also don't agree on.

ODU is in Norfolk this year.

and yeah just can't see us losing that many at home, scary to think about and would be a huge disappointment given the high expectations this year. Honestly this is the best feeling I've had going into a season since our last championship season in 2007.

no doubt. I don't see you guys losing to all 3 between ull, stAte, and us. I could see you guys dropping one of those games, but not all 3.
