I noticed the ACC tournament will not be in Greensboro from 2016-2019.

With ODU, Charlotte, and Marshall all fairly nearby, I think it would be a good location for the next 4 years.

For those that are familiar, is it a good venue? Easy to fly into Greensboro? Thats a basketball crazy area, do you think it would be pretty good attendance?

A p5 league, yes. Us NO. Only way it is decently attended is at a home venue or city.

It is close to Raleigh-Durham so yes, it is easy and cheap to fly into, but you'll have to rent a car because the area is very spread out.

I think we need it on campus. But we definitely need to split the women's and mens tournaments. There really is no need for them to be in the same city. The women's games get ignored. And a lot of good cities cannot host due to needing two venues. It'll give the women a chance to be the main attraction wherever they play and more competition for the city hosting the men. That's just good for everyone.

Greensboro has its own airport. It isn't quite as big as Raleigh's, but it is a fairly busy airport. The Triad has over a million people.

Regardless, your point stands that you'd have to rent a car. Greensboro Coliseum doesn't really have anything around.

In Charlotte, you could fly in, take a cab (or the airport sprinter bus) to uptown and never have to use a car the rest of your trip. Hundreds of bars, restaurants, and breweries are either uptown, along the light rail line, or a sub-$10 Uber ride away.

I think Charlotte is the place to have it.

If they separate the men's and women's tournaments, which was talked about at the last CUSA meetings, then I think a Men's tournament will end up in Biloxi.

The Men and Women's tournaments used to be in two different cities. It didn't work. It won't happen again.

Greensboro is always sparsely attended for ACC games that aren't with NC or VA schools... Trust me, I've been there a few times for the tourney.

All you guys would have to do is spend one day in downtown Nashville and you wouldn't want the tournament to ever be anywhere else. Except for UTEP fans. Of course they'll say the only place for the tournament is El Paso.

I was amazed and horrified by the way the CUSA handled the scheduling of games. I defended the cost of the tickets because you got into all games...men and women's. There were Marshall and WKU fans at our hotel that were furious that their men's and women's games were at basically the same times. What on earth would make that scheduling happen??? I would have been mad also to pay that much money and have to pick between going to one game over the other.

ODU has strong women's attendance (and could be much more once we get back on track). LaTech and MTSU have a following as well. Rotate between those three and you'll have a nice women's tournament. There is more value by splitting it up. It can also help the women side establish some type of an identity.

MT had the same thing happen.

Our ladies game started earlier so most of our fans were there. It looked like nearly no one was at our men's game till the second half.

I hope not, or if so they better have another venue besides the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. That place is one massive dump and it has an odor that's hard to explain inside. Been in that place enough from 95-05 for hockey games.

The conference tournament will be hosted by a member for the foreseeable future, whether UAB is around to ***** at or not.

RE: Nuetral Site options
Keep the men's and women's tournaments together. The women's tournament would be even more of an afterthought if it weren't part of the men's. Hold the West tournament in Austin or New Orleans and East tournament in Nashville or Atlanta. I think it's important that they be played at a neutral site from now on. The tournament winners can play a three-game series for the championship like they do in the NBA. This is a good way to make the tournaments geographically sensible for fans, exciting, and fair for everyone involved.

Neutral site is great if you don't like having at least one decent crowd per day. For perception purposes, do you want pictures like the 2015 Sun Belt Tournament Championship in New Orleans or the C-USA Tournament Championship:
