Little discussion on the board about tonight's big game against UNC.
Either we're expecting a one-sided game or too much holiday stuff going on I would guess.
Our best chance , which takes no great depth of knowledge, is to have one of our big nights hitting threes, keeping unforced turnovers down, and
not going up against their big guys under the basket with hopeless drives.
These three things plus a poor Carolina shooting night.
Our chances are slim but don't forget that we have some very talented players, including a great one in Marcus, and that when these guys jell
they can play anyone tough.

Agreed. It is not too much of stretch to win with the formula above. We will also need to hit free throws and hope for more even handed officiating than in the NIT game...
Our guys are 8-12 points better than the odds makers believe. Coming out of a long prep time for UNC, the intangibles and the fact that UNC probably believes the line more than we do, I believe I can witness W&M beating UNC live for the second time in my life tonight, although we all acknowledge it is a long shot.
Tony knows the UNC system and its vulnerabilities. Our guys can play within themselves and win, they don't need career nights and have played at the level needed for pretty good stretches this year. UNC will no doubt look beyond us to their ACC schedule. Now is the time and Chapel Hill is the place to feel the earth move tonight.
I honestly believe that if everyone on the team played at the level we know that they're capable of that we can beat anyone on our schedule. The problem is that hasn't happened for us yet. Either Marcus or Omar has an off night or Terry gets into foul trouble or Sean gets abused in the post or Daniel can't get his shots to fall or whatever. Tonight would be a great night for the team to put it all together and get a big road win.
I have to admit that I am less optimistic about this game than most. I think it will take nearly a perfect storm for us to come away with a W, tonight. UNC-CHeat is very good and very big. Barring something crazy I'm really just hoping that this game makes the guys better. I'd like to see us stick with the outside game, but not be afraid to challenge them for boards. Going into the Dean Dome can be tough, mentally, and I'm hoping our guys don't come out intimidated. I'm just hoping to see intensity and good play. If the perfect storm happens, even better.

Slim and None are our chances to achieve a W , but even if Slim plays well, and W&M has a buch of Slim players, None will not rebound or play D well enough against unc
Man, turnovers are killing us. We've also missed some easy ones around the basket. Maybe someone who knows basketball can chime in but I feel like Sheldon is playing well.

The stats show is even on turnovers, but ours have been more of the fast break variety.
As we've known all season, if we don't hit shots it will be tough to win games. We are not hitting shots - including a number of missed layups.

I would like to see the eighteen teams in the country better than UNC. They have speed, size, and shooting ability. They also do line changes like a hockey team with no noticeable drop off in talent. Guarantee this team is top 10 or better by March. On the other hand, you would think the guys have never seen a Havoc like defense before...VCU ring a bell?
