RE: Rice v. Marshall
My feet got pretty cold after sun went down but that's about it. Good game, had a lot of fun. Had a good time razzing some of the Rice players but they were cool and talked with us a bit 4th quarter; good kids. Very impressed with #15.

Temp. was an issue for some of the Rice players. They did NOT appreciate the cold much at all.

Perhaps you are not 6'5" 240 lbs. Tough to find that kind of gear sometimes for me. It was 34-7 when we left, didn't miss much.

I'd say the fact that you had to wear Arctic expedition underwear to be comfortable says it was THAT cold.

Hey Marshall, heck of a game! You guys thoroughly dominated the line of scrimmage. That really surprised me. And wow at that defensive coverage! Not a lot of negatives for you guys. I would love to get another crack at you, but you guys are clearly the better team!

GG Owl fans. Think the weather might've effected both QB's a bit today, that was one cold mother. I've read that your fans don't think much of your DB's, but they were on MU's WR's like glue and your D was tough and physical, but might've ran out of gas a bit later. GL going forward, hope your team wins out through they're bowl.

I never leave early but it was pretty miserable after the sun went behind the west stands. GG Rice. One question, was that targeting call on Ellerbe crap or a good call? It didn't look all that bad on the field or replay but I figure those watching on TV saw better angles. I mean it looked like a cheap shot after the returner was wrapped up but not a hit worth getting kicked out of the game for.

It was a late flag by the official. It wasn't thrown until after he stood over him and taunted. I was surprised when they called targeting. I was expecting a taunting call.

I thought the Rice DB's were pretty good. They covered our guys as good or better than anyone has all year. Rice has a solid program and classy group. Best of luck the rest of the year.

I have to say our defensive performance today was one of the best I have ever seen.

We have two East Division games left which means that UAB and MTSU can still win the East if we lose the next two. Like Doc has said all year - one game at a time. If we win next week, we will clinch. Thank you for the congrats on the win! 04-cheers

No, they can't. We hold the head to head with MTSU. Even if we lost the next two, we still win the East no matter what.

Yeah, I made the mistake of looking at the Official CUSA site rankings - They have MTSU as 5-5/4-1, not capturing their loss yesterday in conference standings. Had I thought it through, I would have caught it. Then I misread UAB as having 2 conference losses instead of 3, so I was wrong all the way around. :/

That said, thanks for the congrats on winning the East NanoDawg! 04-cheers

RE: Rice v. Marshall
Herd fans. Congrats on a great W. I was a skeptic b/c of the schedule. I was wrong. If you had ECU's schedule, there would be talk this week of Herd in the top-10 and knocking on door of the playoff conversation.

Team is legit and much improved/complete from a year ago. You are the best team we have played (better than A&M and Notre Dame).

Good luck the rest of the way. Rice fans are cheering for you.

For Rice, we are a mediocre football team which is better than being a bad team like many in C-USA but frustrating as program needs to take that next step. We belong ranked in that 60-75 FBS range. We beat bad teams consistently but get beat by good (top-25) teams consistently. Need to get program to the next level. Hope we get to H.O.D. bowl to play a Big 10 team to get some respect. No real upside to beating a MAC, MWC, etc. G5 team in a bowl game. Only downside to losing.

I haven't read a Landon article since his scathing article about us before the Military Bowl last year. And don't plan on starting now. The less clicks he has the better the chance the HD gets rid of him.

Wasn't trying to start controversy. He makes a good point in this article. Marshall was invested emotionally for this game on a whole other level. My word choice was poorly crafted. I don't know him personally; however, I disagree with many of his opinions. To his credit, he may very well be a tremendous person. Regardless, my opinion of most of his articles remains unchanged.

I don't care to know him. Landon is a HACK plain and simple.
