I'd rather play ASU. They're only an hour away (instead of the 3.5 to get to MTSU) and it's an easy day trip.
Besides, we have more history with ASU.

Plus most Tennesseans would love to give Memphis to Arkansas and they are probably the only state in the US that would be willing to take you.

Start with Kroger and the school system and go from there.

Just make West TN a State. We'll take extreme North Mississippi and extreme East AR.
Memphis, Jackson, Southaven, West Memphis, Martin, Paris, Union City, etc
I'm down...

I also see Nashville and Knoxville on that list...TN, as a State, has a crime problem.

Of course every big city in TN is going to be on a list about TN crime. Those cities however don't come in 4th in the nation in violent crime like memphis. http://www.forbes.com/pictures/mlj45jggj/4-memphis/

RE: Nice piece in the Murfreesboro paper
Memphis really is a dump. The public apathy about this city is alarming. Everyone I work with are always trying to figure out how to leave this city. I'm one of them. There are many reasons why too. The biggest thing to me is how rude the locals are.
But as to the game it's time MT fans stop trashing and start respecting our opponents program. Their fans expect a lot out of their team and have been disrespectful at times. That doesn't make it right for us to act the same way. This is 2014. New squads will take the field tomorrow and it doesn't matter who has done what. Memphis does appear to have improved and I'm happy their fans are not looking forward to basketball season. I feel Memphis is on the rise, just like MT. I think it'll be a good game. I'm just asking MT fans to act your age, not your shoe size (and yes I'm included).

That's based on 2 1/2 year old data...crime in Memphis is now down 21.6% from 2007...and dropping.

But the utter lack of respect that the memphis fans have shown us has gotten us a little defensive. Here's hoping for another CUSA win over a G5 team, and we can close this chapter in our mutual history.
You do realize that members of your fan base have started at least 4 threads on our board. I'm not counting the AAC board, but you keep that cautious bravado and defensive mentality.
Just went over to memphistigers.org and didn't see a single thread started by a middle fan. We are playing with the funny shaped brown ball, not the round orange ball. 5-1, 17-8-1... Run along home junior.
Because they all got moved to smack you dip chit. I'm not your junior either.
Stand back guys, we got an intellectual heavyweight here. You seem to have made the mistake that I care how old you are. I don't care about you or your university. Now run along there fella.
Haha.....you're not the sharpest tool in the shed. You replied to me. Carry on big guy.
If we lose, then I will gladly eat crow and wish you well.

Why didn't you include my father? I moved out of there during the 2008 NCAA tourney...6 years ago.
But I still try to visit them every week.

I lived there from birth until college and one of my main goals upon graduation was to never move back there. I have succeeded thus far and it would take an act of God to get me to move back.
