its about sticking with what's yours no matter what. If my son was the worst baseball player on the team from little league til high school I'd still go to every game. I wouldn't start following some hot shot hitting 500 over my kid. I'd follow my son and be loyal with all my heart. That's the difference between college and NFL football fans. Most of us don't jump on last years superbowl winner bandwagon stuff. We college fans stick with our boys win or lose, in hot humid temperatures along with frigidly cold, always having the hope that they LL win at some point. Its what we do.

Interesting analogy. But you should metaphorically recommend your son to choose another sport.
The same would go for USF (or my support for USF). Or any team for that matter.
10 losing season? It would be in any team's best interest to make some major programs OR SCRAP the program.
This won't be an issue with USF. But an OCS -- isn't there to reward underperforming results. Especially with a University that possess great potential.

Agreed. It's there because that's what college football teams do. They play in college football stadiums.

Wow! Are you actually suggesting that SMU, Tulane and Temple drop their football programs because they ve only had a few winning seasons over the past 3 decades??

Picture taken at halftime by Orlando Sentinel.
UCF reported attendance as 37,924...which would be ~85% capacity.
Gotcha....
Imagine when they go through a down period....
Which game is that? We clear out the last couple of min and come back in right at kickoff. It's always been that way. Nobody is ever in the stands at halftime. Especially at a noon game

I have hidden that fact?? I was really angry that USF got picked up by the bcs in 2005 after a few years of playing and made all that bcs $$ while many others more worthy fought for chump change on the outside of the bcs cartel. At least you now know how much it sucks to be snubbed. Probably far worse than you ever imagined

Side note, up until the recent nosedive by USF, USF drew more fans on average than UCF on average pretty much every year (some of that can be attributed to being in the Big East). Now UCF is drawing more than USF. If USF gets back to respectable or outstanding levels, like expected, both will draw about the same long term, IMO.

agree 100% you USF fans got so spoiled with the big east invite after 2 seasons of horrible cusa play. You didn't earn the bcs league invite and that's part of the disconnect here.
"Earn"
Really?
What does "earning" have to do with anything?
Rutgers....graced their fans with over 125 years of crappy football, yet they are positioned to make upward to $40-million/year once the new B1G contracts kicks in. Please don't lecture me on "earning" or paying dues.
- See Maryland...
- See Duke....
- See Iowa State...
- See Vanderbilt....
- See SEC schools in Mississippi
- See a large % of "Power$" schools who have done nothing to earn their welfare checks other than long time association with their conference.
Again..."earn" has nothing to do with anything except when it's related to earning/making money for schools and the NCAA.
no, they didn't earn it. But everyone of those you mentioned are light years beyond USF. Welfare? See USF between 2005-2013.
Man talk about an axe to grind... Some SunDoll break your heart or something?
If ECU was upset they should have beat us on the field... but despite all their bluster if USF being light years behind they couldn't stay on the field against USF. Not a flame but facts....however fans like billy bobber can continue to hold a grudge.

How was ECU more worthy?
Especially when expansion was driven by markets and upside?
It's not our fault we are located in Tampa and that we quickly built a program from nothing to a competitive program that beat all this CUSA teams that we would supposedly never catch. I can understand ECU's frustration but don't take it out on USF b/c what we were supposed to do....turn down the Big east's interest? Let go of your hate....

Wow, you couldn't be more wrong. Dude this is football we're talking about.... I, and if you ever read my posts since the AAC was formed you'd know this, really like our current conference. Yeah, it's not a 'power' conference (using the ESPN definition), but with our big schools and big markets, we'll grow into a very legit #6. You did happen to notice all that success the conference had last year?
You seriously think I hate Louisville or Pitt because they got 'in' and USF didn't? Nope. And I'm not curling up in a fetal position and crying every night that I'm not in the ACC or B12. Life's too short...
