no one tripled anything reading for comprehensions is a good thing....try it sometimes.
What you are not counting is Western had a game in Nashville that was a "home" game as far as money but the NCAA does not count it in attendance.
We had 45,000 at that game and like ASU Western probably has a double secret file with about a million dollars in not reported ticket sales..for that one game.
But we can't tell anyone..right ASU?
What all are you including under "Contributions"? The current membership guide for the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation (on the WKU Athletic website) shows donations of around $1.2 million. Kind of surprising for such a powerhouse program. Heck, App State had $3.2 million in donations this past fiscal year (ending 6-30) and we're just getting started in this FBS stuff.

SAY C USA would have taken two more and the WAC had a large exit fee. Two SBC programs would have been on the outside looking in. App St and Georgia Southern along with GSU and USA locked out.
That time line may not be right its besides the point anyway.
Just for clarification, USA always had a FBS home. USA is a founding member of the Sun Belt and Sun Belt bylaws give every SBC member a football home if they sponsor football. There was never a question of whether or not we could get into a conference or what conference we would be in. We were in the Sun Belt already, which guaranteed us a home for football the second we announced it.
If UTA announced tomorrow that they were adding football, the Sun Belt would have to take them since they are a member of the SBC.

OK fine
The point was circumstances out of our control placed us and NMSU in bad situations. Being independent for a year and football only members. C-USA could have went to 16 like they talked about . The WAC could have had a large exit fee. Then maybe no Sun Belt football and two SBC teams football only in the WAC.

Don't assume that will continue at your highest level the excitement of moving up and a all out effort to reach donors. A couple losing seasons will not make people go into their pockets. Then the excitement going to a bowl will open them again.
The money listed under HAF is only the donation fee on season tickets. The money for the boxes (basketball) is not included in HAF.
Western has another fund with the double secret donations that no one gets to see. We can hint that it's there but no one ever gets to actually see it or how much is in it. But we all know it's there (roll my eyes)

I'm not disputing your numbers I'm just posting what I have and while yours and mine vary by a few dollars
at least they are similar
Other words no double secret files that no one else gets to see and bookkeeping different than all the rest of us...

Let me ask you a question..yes I can look it up but you can give the numbers to me.
What was App attendance last year and about the average cost of a ticket?

RE: BSC's Fullerton Comments on the SBC
Average attendance was 26k
Season tickets (6 games) $175, need Yosef contribution of $250-$500 to sit in between 25s.
Single game tickets $25 to $35 depending on the game.

The way A-State reports numbers is how we are required to report numbers under Hog Law. This has always been confusing to journalists everywhere. But good luck.

So going by the numbers I listed on average $19-$20 a ticket
I adjusted the 26k down to 20k after students and comp tickets
Which seems close to about where I expected it considering every school will sell blocks to local business for a lot less than GA and App is listing ticket prices at $17.00 - $ 27.00
So not a huge discount overall on tickets...maybe 1000-2000 under valued business tickets. You can build off of that type of numbers...
most likely tops in the SBC

RE: BSC's Fullerton Comments on the SBC
Two points to clarify:
Students and promos are probably closer to 8k, the student turnout is impressive. This decreases your estimate.
The $17 listed is for youth tickets, $27 is the cheapest adult ticket, this likely increases your estimate.

I don't trust a lot of reports about expenses and revenues. Seems like many times you are comparing apples to oranges to peaches to pears.

Again...we're required by state law to report only donations that are used by the athletic department in a given year. Our correct donation totals are filed with the IRS, talk to them if you want to know those numbers
For example: If I gave a million dollars to Arkansas State, but the school only used 50K of that this year to fund a project, then they report to the state they received only 50K in donations. The rest are filed away with the Red Wolf Foundation, and saved until the next thing is needed. We got a 5 million dollar donation a couple months ago that was highly publicized. School wont report that to Arkansas because its likely it will never actually go to the Athletic Department, but will rather be funneled into Stadium improvements, which we don't have to report.
