RE: Sun Belt Loading Up on QBs
When you mention all-american QB think you are referring to our starting QB for last year.
He had surgery prior to last year and started the first four games, but our coaches finally pulled
him out. He either never recovered from the surgery or had just lost game management and
skills that he previously showed the year before. Most fans wanted him out the first game with
Montana last year, but our coaches kept going with him for almost half the season because he
had been so good the year before.

TXST has 2 QB commits so far and I like what I see from both of them, should be a hell of a competition between these two styles.

Blake Peterson 3 star pro style
L.G Williams 3 star Dual-threat

Ahhh nothing quite like the unbridled enthusiasm of a qb prospect thread. They are all the savior and the new best thing since sliced bread!

Speaking of QB's we just had another QB commit today.

Should provide good competition for the QB spot.

Technically speaking, the three QB recruits in this thread are probably the highest rated QBs (out of high school) the SBC has ever seen. Not everyday the SBC gets below the 50th best in class mark.

I tend to think the opposite. You take the best athletes you can find and mold the system to fit the personnel.

If Dontreal Pruitt wins the Troy QB job, expect to see a lot of QB runs and go balls over SBC cornerbacks. That was his bread and butter in high school and JUCO and we certainly have a few "chip reeves" style field stretchers to make that happen in Holmes, Bentley, and possibly Worthy.

I can understand Boston College, but damn, how did we land a QB that had an offer from Miami?

SBC's going to continue having some crazy, fun to watch offenses.

Yeah. I always laughed when people call QB's a "system QB".....

No shite! Every QB is a system QB. Peyton Manning is. Tom Brady is. Put Tom Brady in Ga Southern's scheme and he would be terrible. I never understood that phrase

I believe it's about seeing what throws the QBs are better at executing and game-planning around that...

I don't see a Miami offer on his 247 page, but either way his arm looks pretty good on tape. Not that I know much about QB's throwing the ball03-old

Which is when I laugh at all of these pro style and dual threat tags. Can he throw the ball and what happens when he steps in the huddle?

Not every QB can run the zone read and drop back and drop a deep out or go over deep coverage...dual threat means just that.
