TECHNICALLY speaking... it's a word.

Quote:Usage Discussion of IRREGARDLESS

Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

Just because it doesn't have general acceptance doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

You know it's the offseason when the most active thread on the board is a grammar argument.

It's hot as Hades in the Boro too and I think some our freshmen FB players are starting to arrive to campus today. While they are working on their fitness I'll probably be sitting in my air conditioned living room running up my power bill.

Yes, scratching my head on that one as well. But I guess when someone doesn't have anything to add on the subject, they try to make fun of others. I did say try....

It's funny that a thread about football can digress so quickly, but that thread about Liberty is something like 300 pages long and still about Liberty.

I'd say ULL, ArkSt, and Troy have the best QBs at the moment. AppSt could be included in the discussion if they still have the FCS All-American. The three QBs in this thread are showing that the SBC is certainly on the rise, at least as an offensive league. QB play won't be an issue against big name teams.

Gonna be a HOT one today in Boone with a high of 82. Of course there's the low humidity and the breeze to keep it feeling like it's in the high 70's. For the few people in Boone who actually have AC this might be a good day to see if they still work.

Haha thats nice weather. It's like they say, you don't live in South Georgia (or Atlanta for that matter) for June, July, August. You live here for November - February when everyone else is battling freezing temps and snow. Although the cold weather we got here last season was a bit of an anomaly.

Kam Bryant wasn't an AA, but he was an extremely efficient QB. Started last 8 games and completed 237 of 333 attempts for 71%, 2700 yards, 14 TD's and only 4 int's. If you are referring to the AA WR Price, after multiple team rules violations and run-ins with the local authorities he was shown the door 5 games into the season.

Our football coach, Scott Satterfield, being a walk-on at App State and having an great regular seasons when he played, being our OC for years, even though Coach Moore wouldn't allow an official title, places a lot of emphasis on the QB play.
Some may want to watch this video, it's a little long, eleven minutes, but gives you a feel for App State. "Together We Rise"....
you are going to know who we are.
