For instance, you have Idaho beating NMSU but also have NMSU beating Idaho. Is each prediction seperate from each other and "best case season" or should they match all the way through?
slycat, I understand where you are coming from and appreciate your comment. I must have made an error, there are two others that have assisted us with the countdown and I must have overlooked it before I
clicked - publish. Thanks for catching it, I will try and fix.
What
we attempted to do was take the votes that were cast by the members of the SBC board, which clearly and decisively had ranked the teams from 1-11. What I did was keep that prediction paramount and tried to correlate what might be an overall win/loss record for teams they play this year. We looked at the head to head match ups from the past and predicted the wins and losses the best we could from the overall predicted order, selected by SBC members. We looked at home games and the historical advantages from years past, (last year’s results) and tried to account for experience from returning players and the potential impact from new players. It was totally arbitrary and may or may not be the end results. I put my neck on the chopping block a little. I enjoy the discussion and especially like to hear others opinions why they support differing views. Remember, it is all for entertainment, enjoyment and to stimulate a debate from your members why they may support a contrary view.
I hope that everyone enjoys our efforts and will continue to support our desire to elevate all five conferences. We feel the media has a bias to ignore all of us unjustly.
In the near future we will spin off to a separate blog for more detailed
group of five discussions and hope to link all together for promotion and recognition of the new top 25 poll.
If any SBC members would like to make suggestions or contribute, please accept our open invitation to join us or help out.
Respectfully,
Oldtimer
PS. Those that have plans to vote on the new poll, we will open up registration next week and remind those already planning to be pollsters (we need a lot more from the SBC, currently about 18-20).
