Good deal. I've been looking, and haven't found anything less than $600 short of driving to BWI. Coming back on Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend is the killer.

I'm flying JetBlue out of Richmond to FLL, leaving Thanksgiving coming back Wed. I live on the Peninsula and RIC is a breeze for me.

RE: ODU Football...... Are you excited?!?!
Thanks Cyniclone, for putting this thought in my head.
Here’s an interesting, little, fun thought for consideration. If the Monarchs beat Hampton plus all the teams that ODU should be favored over according to the Orlando Sentinel FBS Countdown to date, then we would already be bowl eligible with six wins.
999. Hampton (FCS and not ranked in the Orlando Sentinel Countdown)
127. Florida International
118. Eastern Michigan
104. UT-El Paso
102. Louisiana Tech
98. North Carolina State
Hey – anything to help get through the next 99 days. GO MONARCHS!

The ESPN Preseason Power Index ranks ODU at No. 77. Looking at the Monarchs’ schedule and the rankings of their opponents, we can project that ODU will go 9-3 this year:
WINS
1. Rice (89)
2. Western Kentucky (99)
3. Middle Tennessee (107)
4. Louisiana Tech (110)
5. UTEP (113)
6. Florida Atlantic (114)
7. Florida International (119)
8. Eastern Michigan (122)
9. Hampton (Not Ranked)
LOSSES
1. Marshall (57)
2. Vanderbilt (69)
3. NC State (70)
Voila! The Monarchs go 9-3!
Hell yeah I'm excited! Bring on another poll! I’m starting to enjoy this!

Harry Minium's column coming out Monday morning in the Pilot is a followup with Wood Selig on his comments to Nick Cattles regarding the upcoming football season. Harry agrees with WS that the next couple of years may be just a little bit hard on Monarch fans.

And with SMU 91st in the Orlando countdown, ODU is guaranteed a top-90 predicted finish.

In light of this, I say we skip the season and go with Aggies 9-3 finish and call it another successful year!
On the other hand, it is too much fun to watch.

Better yet, let's just root them all the way to a 9-3 finish. It's been known to happen before!

vs. Hampton -- W
@ NC State -- L
vs. EMU -- W
@ Rice -- W
vs. MTSU -- L
vs. Marshall -- L
@ UTEP -- W
@ WKU -- L
@ Vandy -- L
vs. FIU -- W
vs. La. Tech -- W
@ FAU -- W
Total: 7-5
NC State and Vandy don't need explanation. Marshall is simply a better team, so I think we lose that one as well. I think we pull an upset against Rice simply because they'll be coming off an assumed beatdown at Ben Hill Griffin, so if we can take advantage of a hurting team we can pull that one off. Then the following week is the classic letdown game where we lose to MTSU. I'm also worried about how we tend to play following a bye week, which is why I have us losing at Western Kentucky--anyone remember Villanova in '12? Yes, I know we held our own at Pitt but that was a combination of playing in an NFL stadium and Pitt looking past an unknown non-ACC team. Then we cap off a stellar CUSA debut by beating FIU (who will be coming off a tough game against Rice), La. Tech (TH's senior night and La. Tech possibly looking past ODU to play Rice for a potential CUSA crown the following week), and FAU.
7-5 is an excellent first season and I'd be stoked if this happened. Let's go, boys!

Im predicting one more ODU win, coming over North Carolina State, Middle Tennessee State, or Western Kentucky. Mabey it is the Middle Tennessee State game that ODU wins, since it will be a big time home game for ODU.

I think we go 6-6, losing at FAU. Selig is trying to under promise/over deliver.

RE: ODU Football...... Are you excited?!?!
Lord only knows how this season will turn out, but I truly believe this 8-4 scenario is entirely within the realm of possibility. Please understand, I am not predicting this, but I would not be surprised if it happened. Who knows, if ODU goes into Rice with three wins under its belt, the Monarchs just might beat the Owls to go 9-3.
vs. Hampton -- W
@ NC State -- W
vs. EMU -- W
@ Rice -- L
vs. MTSU – W (Friday night national TV)
vs. Marshall -- L
@ UTEP -- W
@ WKU -- L
@ Vandy -- L
vs. FIU -- W
vs. La. Tech -- W
@ FAU – W
All this said, my prediction remains at 6-6 with wins over Hampton, EMU, MTSU, UTEP, FIU and LA Tech. I think we can beat NC State, but I just cannot predict that game as a win.
