Why do you guys dwell on MDs posts so much?

I'm optimistic that SF understands better scheduling is needed, but we may be putting the cart before the horse in raising prices this year when we're still dealing with our usual crappy 5 home-game schedule.

Other than for the pup club, season ticket prices didn't go up that much...$7-$10ea...especially when we knew the direction that we want and Frazier came in talking about taking the program to the next level.

Individual tickets, yes but that is to give a season ticket a better value.

The real price hike will come next year with 7 home games.

The price increase this year is to get everyone ready for the even bigger season ticket prices when Frazier puts together a competitive home schedule.

That's not bad. And I'll feel better about paying more if we have a decent schedule.

It's $20 on game day to see the tOSU spring game and they will draw over 80,000. You do not even want to know what they charge for a regular season game, parking etc.

NIU is not OSU, I get that, but it is a Damn good value.

In a way I am too, until I think about it a little more. It starts to price out people that just can't spend that much for 1 game, and becomes a little elitist. There are downsides other than price, like crappy seats and not being able to get out of the parking lot for a long time. We've had it good, being able to watch a good team, without a lot of that.

I would never trade what we have for the bigger schools - never. They can keep their huge ticket prices, required donations, and massive traffic jams leaving the game. I always say this every time I go to a game in a bigger venue. They can have it.

+ 1 million. I don't want NIU to become tOSU, or any of the SEC teams. I am just fine being a midmajor. Do we need some improvements? Yes of course. But most of us on here could NEVER afford those other games. Some yes - but most of us NO.

I enjoy going to BCS games, but only about once a year. I can only imagine Ohio State in 2015; Huskies fans probably will be charged $100 a clip for seats just south of Cleveland. I'll take free or low-cost parking at Huskie Stadium anytime. Too bad not enough people realize what a bargain NIU games truly are.

We'd all be able to afford more things if we didn't live in Illinois 05-stirthepot

In that case the MAC is a good fit for NIU and we should stop lusting after becoming a member of a more high profile conference.

We cannot have it both ways

I think something like MWC or AAC would be ideal. Bigger crowds but not ridiculous. But I'd settle for a somewhat stronger MAC.

For the next 6 years I would be happy with 1 OOC game vs a recognizable name team (not necessary AQ) coming to Huskie Stadium per year, not running out of hot dogs and fresh buns for those hot dogs.

I don't think that's too much to ask.

Well, the bigger-name team should be no problem. As for the hot dogs and fresh buns? Well, I think you're asking for a bit too much.

Here are some of the biggest name colleges and universities. I'm sure Mr. Frazier is on the phone now with Long Island University–Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences to schedule our 2015 opener. Or, as I like to call in LIUA&MSCoP&HS.

Their cheer is give me an 'L', give me an 'I', give me a 'U' . . . (etc.) give me an 'S'. That usually brings them to the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Pennsylvania State University–Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies (PA)
Long Island University–Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
College of Agriculture & Technology at Morrisville (Morrisville State College)
George Washington University–Virginia Science & Technology Campus (VA)
Pennsylvania State University–Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (PA)
Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center–New Orleans (LA)
Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences (AZ)
Purdue University College of Technology–Columbus/Greensburg (IN)
Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (MA)

I think I found a good solution for you, HJ:

Before entering Huskie Stadium do the following:

1) Stick a few weenies in your pocket. If security notices the protusion, just tell them that it's your weenie. You wouldn't be lying. What are they gonna do, ask to see it? (However, to feel proud of yourself, make sure you get the bigger-than-the-bun weenies.)

2) Wear very loose pants and stick some buns in your back pocket. Once again, if security questions the lump, just say it's your buns. (Again, HJ is the epitome of honesty.)

3) Bring in a bottle warmer and say it's for your kids. Tell them that nobody wants screaming, raging kids to mess up their enjoyment of the game, and you are just trying to prevent that.

4) Once happily in the stadium, find an electrical outlet and use the bottle warmer to heat up the weenies. Put the buns on top, and the mositure should seep in.

RESULT: Happy kids and happy HJ and wife. (Plus, the HJ family may be the only ones in the stadium with hot dogs.)
