Good call on The White Stripes/Jack White. i amazed his band can get all that sound out of a 3 piece.

Video has that Dukes of Hazard vibe with the Dodge Charger burnouts lol

Stinkfist, I find it a little bizarre that at a Kenny Rogers concert only a very small handful of people had heard of KR and the First Edition or What Condition My Condition Was In.

Here's my favorite from that era:
BB Cunningham, the lead singer from the Hombres was still appearing on stage at times, particularly in Europe and filled in the paychecks as a security guard. Unfortunately he was killed a couple of years ago by an intruder while he was on duty.
Rock? Folk? Rap? Acid?.....or just plain stoned, the Hombres were never really classified. Prior to becoming the Hombres, they were the touring concert band for Ronnie and the Daytonas.....

Listening to this right now, used to cover it, though I added a self-written verse rather than repeat the first verse when I performed it:
Tracy Chapman
"Talking 'Bout a Revolution"
Tracy Chapman
1988

Here's a grass roots guy with the same soul that anyone used to be able to hear by putting a dollar in the bucket, but his career has taken off the last few years.

Good stuff. I looked at a few of those "front porch sessions" and liked all of them. Good music going on in Hattiesburg.

that's just too graphic for me.....too self deprecating....had a guy one time go ad-hoc and shut him down, looked at him and said, "gdm nigga....why you wanna be a nigga....you better than dat" ....he got the point and is cruising to a better place right now....just saying man

James Brown is legit, I copped this a few years ago:

[Image: James_Brown_-_40th_Aniversary-front.jpeg]

Baddest man on the planet. His band was as funky as his singing and dancing. The trip was listening to all the tracks and recognizing the rap songs that sampled from his catalog.

RE: OT: CUSA board Music thread (what are you listening to right now?)
There is a serious lack of this band in this thread:

Yes, Appetite was the best Metal Album ever but if I were to rank GNR's catalog:

#1 Appetite for Destruction
--A sonic tour de force of late 80's metal from the grungy streets of L.A.
#2 Use Your Illusion II
--Son many of their signature hits from the double album release came of II that is has to be #2.
#3 Lies
--the acoustic tracks versus the early 80s metal stuff makes it a great dichotomy of an album.
#4 The Spaghetti Incident
--The really put the GNR "vibe" into all of those covers
#5 Use Your Illusion I
--While having good "GNR" tracks, it just wasn't as "great" as II.
#6 Chinese Democracy
--It could never live up to the hype/hype of the wait but it was a decent effort when it finally arrived in stores.

In doing some painting today I busted out:

AC/DC: Back In Black, Black Ice, The Razors Edge
The Black Crowes: Shake Your Money Maker, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion
Some Stevie Ray Vaughn.

*****************

Since I don't believe these guys were posted yet:

Man these guys rocked. I love everyone of their albums.
