I think he need to look at Daniels and pattern his game after that. He could be better than Daniels with time.

Daniels can step out and shoot. Iverson IMO is far more talented as an all around player. If his goal was to be Daniels, who is good at what he does and obviously can contribute at a high level, he would be severely limiting himself given all of his abilities.

Props!

I noticed this today. Iverson is one of the only, if not the only, Tiger players that actually puts his body on an offensive rebounder. Iverson does not just run to the rim and try to out-jump them, he actually blocks out. His length also helps a lot in grabbing boards obviously.

Thoughts?

He is the next Kevin Durant. Needs more PT at the 1-2 and 3.

he's not a 1 ... his minutes are at the 3 and 4. Not that he can't trigger the O some ...
Does Durant play any point ...
07-coffee3

IMO he should strictly be on the court as a 2 or 3. I just do not see him being successful at the 4 spot. There might be certain matchups where he can play the 4, but in general noway. He is true wing player and needs to stay there. I honestly believe trying to turn him into any type of 4 would severely hamper his long term development.

KD is never the PG per say but he brings the ball up the court all of the time, especially if he gets the defensive rebound. Much like Geron does for us.

He would probably be better than Daniels at this juncture had he played major minutes against most of those lowly home OCC teams. Nothing can take the place of real game experience.

I agree, but as an odd aside, did you see Daniels against Louisville last night? He was TURRIBLE, 1-9 with 3 points. A complete non-factor. Too bad he didn't switch Thursday for Saturday.

RE: Iverson
I suspect Pastner will begin using both King and Iverson more over these next 6 games to prepare for the February push. The early ACC schedule was tough and he wanted these guys to get some minutes against LMO.

The final 3 weeks will be a replication of the early schedule - @ UConn, @ Cincy, Temple, UL, and SMU. MEMPHIS needs to be ready for that.

Let's see how this goes over the next few weeks.

Please stop. No one is saying Iverson is a world beater. However, anyone who doesn't see the raw potential either A) doesn't know basketball B) doesn't know basketball, or C) doesn't know basketball.

Many casual fans played and understand the game and can easily recognize a players skill-sets and overall talent.. and some don't have a clue.

He's been rusting away on the bench for half the season. He finally got some minutes in a game where he could break a sweat.

If you can't see the potential there then I don't know what to say.

RE: Iverson
He should be good- but he plays too loosely still- which is the primary reason he has not played as much.

It is not about his "skills," is about his performances. Found it odd to hear him say basically if he had played against UConn Daniels would not have gone for 23 and 11...bit of public grumbling.

Yes- players need playing time in order to settle down- but some are settled enough from the get go (Nichols, Jackson and company a few years ago) to not be liabilities- even if they are not yet great.

If he can be patient, and take advantage of more playing time to tighten his skills, he could very well be a part of our rotation reasonably soon- and a major part next year.
