It looks like the coaches that didn't have the personnel to work with were spared.

If it goes the way the last 3 searches have gone, then we will get who we go after, because Mackin is so hush hush, that we will never know if swung and missed on anybody. Every hire will be presented as the coach we were always after. Which is a good things i guess.

Yep, you have to give McGee credit, although I wish he had made some of these moves last year at this time. How well he fills these positions will more than likely determine if he will be next to get canned or not.

Could have been for recruiting purposes. Isn't Peoples one of our main recruiters?

RE: Defensive Staff Shakeup
The "life blood" of a FB Hcoach's career is his support staff. As noted before, when Watson Brown failed to bring in similar quality assistants to those he lost, his program crashed. The same thing happened to end the 16 year Texas career of his younger brother. Add to that the greater risks imposed by limited financial resources in many programs and the "crossed fingers syndrome" is accentuated. I hope UAB is able to choose well and get out of our present "valley of the shadows" and move into the bright sunlit peaks.

Absolutely ...I wanted Reggie Johnson to succeed more than you can imagine, upon meeting him at one of the public "Caravans", I was immediately impressed. I'm very sorry that it didn't work out for him should these reports of a house cleaning in the defensive staff happen to be true.

He was one of the nicest coaches I've ever met.

Glad to see them gone. Hopefully we'll get the guy from MTSU or FAU. Just my two guesses.
