We played with 12 scholarship guys so we have an extra slot open. With the unfilled scholarship, known departures, and incomers we should have 4 more spots to fill by my count.
It appears that we will have plenty of guards. So, should I guess that
AK will look for another shot blocking center to spell Davis and perhaps another Forward?
Not super versed in Will Shaver's game but at 6'10 260 he's probably the top target for that role
We are stacked at point and shooting guard.
We need monster front court players at the 4 and 5 spot to backfill Jemison/Buffen.
There are so many skilled experienced big guys jumping into the portal, we just need 2-4 good ones.
Feel like we might need one more scorer and two bigs. Do we have a true pass-first point on the roster?
I feel like Eric will make a big leap next year when it’s more his show to run.
Gaines needs 15 pounds of muscle. He might play the point a few minutes a game but I don't see him being able to run the show. He can slash and get to the rim. Now needs to develop a consistent mid range jumper. We definitely need a real point guard. Maybe he is already here. I don't know yet.

No, and we haven't since AK has been our coach. For better or worse, I don't think he wants a traditional point guard. He likes ball dominant, high volume scorers.
Gaines showed he was coachable and definitely improved as the year went on, but he has a long way to go if he is going to play point guard full time.
A:T ratio for the season of around 1.4. Shot around 39% overall for the season - not a good percentage for a player who took a ton of shots at the rim. His 3point % went up A LOT from LSU, and that is promising, and shows he is coachable and will put in the work..
He needs to get stronger, finish better around the rim, develop some sort of mid range shot or floater, and continue to work on his three point shot.
If he could cut back on the eye gouging turnovers and jumping in the air without any idea what to do with the ball, and also work on some of the aforementioned stuff, he could easily develop into a monster.
We need consistent ball handlers, consistent shooters, and big men. I like the core we are bringing in, but it needs to be fleshed out a good bit.
Definitely need a couple more quality big men.
I love what Davis can do in the half court offense but we saw enough this year to know he is very limited on the defensive end and isn’t going to be a double-digit rebounder. I think he is more effective playing 20 minutes than 25-30. Lets him focus his energy.
We have instant minutes for a big who can fill Trey’s role.
We’ve been showing interest in many guards in the portal. Take that how you will. Not sure if that’s a sign that players are possibly leaving. The Juco guys look very impressive. I’d think we’d want some more guards that are proven at this level though to really make an FAU like roster that’s 9 guys deep. If toney toney gets a 3 pointer he’s a sleeper
Of the current roster, to me the most likely to leave might be ROngie looking for more minutes at a lower level. Butta should have a nice role ahead. TOney earned the trust for an expanded role next season. Dunno about Bertram and whether he would have to sit if he leaves.
We are really going to miss KJ. Kid was an absolute warrior. Somebody has to step into that role. #firebreathersonly

Yeah, I just look at twitter for recruiting. There's not too many players where even 2 of the 3 assistants follow so I'm not sure there's much of a pattern unless AK follows them. Also, Ousmane entered the portal granted he's probably texas tech bound
I’d take it as a good sign then if he’s got the majority of staff following him. Or he’s atleast a top target
