To go with the points or is that Calvin Austin TD return still sizzlin in the back of their heads?

I'll probably just tease Memphis up to +30 and hope Henigan can toss a couple of TDs for the cover
+16 dogs to Miss State…
we’re along way from Dallas & the Cotton Bowl.
I would take those odds. Preseason week 1 spreads are notoriously inaccurate, especially this early.

being an big away game, and since what happened last year, I think 16 in generous. I'd definitely be the over.
no way lines should be out this early
State will be the same team as last year. They are beatable.

I honestly think the game being in Starkville is the biggest hurdle, especially being the first game of the season. I think we would have stood a better chance opening against stAte, then playing Ms State. Let the guys get a game under their belt against a slightly lesser team. Gives them game footage of the current roster to better prepare for Ms. State. I'll watch and cheer no matter what, but I think the line is generous in our favor by a few points. I don't keep up with much football outside of Memphis, but if it's the same team we played against last year, I think it'll be close until the second half. Maybe 17-21 state, then they beat us by 20ish.
we'll cover...

Yep!
Should be a good game. At least it isn't Old Mrs. MissStake doesn't try to break our QB's legs.
I could see the line being 7 or 8 because they are at home. 16 seems like a big number. I think they were a 4 point favorite last year. We lost Calvin but both teams return a bunch. I think that's a lazy summer line.
State isn't some behemoth.

they were picked to win last season too.
I’m not sure we will not be the better team and you can get 16 points too?

This is Moo, not Alabama
Lay um
We haven't covered a road game in the Ryan Silverfield era.

If you were to ask me today, I would take the points for the Bulldogs. This will be Hennigan's first game in a loud environment. Two new coordinators on both sides of the ball. Offensive line may be at questioned to start (they did lose a four year starter in Parham), there are still question marks at the receiver core. Somebody will have to step and be the #1 receiver.
Factor that with them losing JJ Russell on defense, who racked up 100+ tackles last year.

As weird as this sounds, I don't think this team will be ready to play in Starkville.

Winner.
They have a pretty experienced depth chart with only potential weaknesses in the Offensive Line and the Special Teams. Will Rodgers is the real deal and so a lot might depend on our Secondary - which can sometimes be just a bit iffy at best. They are playing at home - Might have revenge on their mind - and the crowd is gonna want blood. Can we win? Sure I guess...I suppose....maybe.... if the breaks go our way.

should have definitely opened against stAte or UNT to help work out some kinks and get some CURRENT game footage to work on before taking on Ms. State

Hate to say it, but I agree.
