Ok, I'll bite just this once cause backer and I go back a bit. Or maybe it's his dad, I get confused.

Agree, if you've had it, then getting your card stamped as such should be permitted.

Cause I am close to my first heart attack and right now I would die being carried from ER to ER trying to find an ER surgeon not exhausted. Normally in Memphis the worst time to have a HA is Friday or Saturday night... but with COVID the ER's are full every night.
My mom is stage 3, dad's heart is at 45%, my sister has something, I'm the only healthy one in my family and this virus complicates a complicated process. They are all vaccinated, but as discussed. That is largely irrelevant. The ER's are jammed up is so much bigger problem than the actual virus.

I don't mention masks in any post. I have a dim view of them but this would qualify as a red herring argument to my points. Perhaps even though you quoted me and retorted you are confusing me with statements not made by me. As you know I am an original conservative, and most of what you're discussing is not far from my own values.

A hard task for sure. But if we require shots for school, we can require this.

Our government sucks - Period.
A seatbelt saved my life. But yes our gov is of and by the people, so it is as flawed as we are. But it is still the best on this planet. And getting vaccinated ensures that our enemies economies struggle way longer than ours, which keeps us ahead and free. What makes us great is that the US is a meritocracy. This virus is getting in the way of that process/virtue, the vaccines slow the virus down. They seem a necessary sacrifice.
(10-02-2021 08:40 PM)bluebacker Wrote: [ -> ]Why won't they explain exactly where the virus came from, who created it, and what it's for? Chinese - cull the weak and aging population - exert control over all people by making them do stupid useless s h i t like wear a mask
This sounds right actually. I am behind this. But I think we can do this and get vaccinated. I don't see the two tasks as mutually exclusive.

I think this is dead on. Again I don't mention masks. No reason to, they don't do the harm that the 'don't make me do anything' crowd cries about, nor do they good the 'got-a wear'em' crowd believes. This topic is the very definition of it doesn't matter. Except for if we have a law we have to abide by it. I'll abide the mask law if in exchange people will slow down on 385. I'll do the right thing and pay it forward.
Vaccines on the other hand do matter. They impact our GDP, which drives investment in our country, which drives asset values, which drives innovation, which drives income, which allows for a military that gives us unbelievable freedoms and wonderful living standards. As flawed as we are, and maybe because of those flaw sometimes, we are the envy of the world. Keep it rolling, take the shot.
