Van Exel no. Apparently Frank Martin was interested two years ago but UC said no. I would be shocked if it was Sean Miller.
One interesting name is Bryce Drew, think he was really interested in it when Cronin left but he was fresh of the 0-18 SEC season and the firing from Vandy. But he did a good job at GCU, and has shown the ability to land top recruits.
I’d guess Archie Miller ends up being the guy, but I think Gates, Drew, Darren Savino, and Erik Martin (played at UC from 91-93 with Van Exel and has been on Huggins’s staff for the last ten-fifteen years) will all be considered.
As a fan of of both Cincinnati and Vanderbilt ... I'm not sure Bryce Drew is a good choice. I do feel he got a bit of an unfair deal at VU. He seems like an upbeat coach who can sell recruits on his NBA experience and his relationship to Scott and Homer Drew. He had strong success at Valparaiso and has a positive karma. But ... again, not feeling the desire to have him at UC.

However he did have experience on the other side of the sport as a parent within the grassroots circuit and recruiting which I previously mentioned. Luke's children are adolescents.
If they were going to fire Miller, they should have had a good idea as to who the next coach would be and not take too long to decide. They just lost a four star recruit from Southern California, K.J. Simpson, and another from Seattle is reconsidering. The players are not happy that Miller is gone. Simpson is likely headed to UCLA. Arizona needs to make a decision quickly. They just went through this in football after they fired Kevin Sumlin and that did not go to well.
