DePaul is hiring an assistant who was under FBI investigation with no ties to Chicago or a bordering state.

Jean Lenti Ponsetto can’t be brought back fast enough.

We sure she's still not pulling some strings???
done deal-
huge news-

Extremely surprised Roy Williams didn't wait another year or two until UNC was on top (or close to it) to retire, and instead bowed out after his only 2-year run not winning a postseason game.
Does Carolina stay within the family? They're working on a continuous succession from 1952: Frank McGuire > Dean Smith > Bill Guthridge > Matt Doherty > Roy Williams.

I'd be shocked to see an outsider there.

The coaching carousel just got real.
Chris Beard to Texas. The buyout went down by $1 million today.

Texas Tech is open.

Two big moves in one day.

McCasland seems like the obvious candidate for Texas Tech.
Would expect to see Grant McCasland in-play for Texas Tech.

I wonder if he signed that new contract extension yet.
April 1st is usually a big day for coaching changes, since that is usually when contracts expire and/or buyouts reduce. Wonder if we see any additional movement today.

it makes sense, just it's pretty funny on April Fools Day!

That was the big news I was thinking about upthread
Another Oklahoma rumor.

Loyola Chicago’s Porter Moser and North Texas’ Grant McCasland are both among the candidates for the Oklahoma opening, sources told @Stadium.

Crazy thing is that OU athletic director Joe Castiglione is trying to hire both a men’s and women’s coach at the same time.

Big 12 teams cannibalizing each other, love to see it!

If you look at Porter’s record with/without Krutwig, it’ll be really interesting how he does.

Illinois St................51-65
Loyola pre-Krutwig...89-105
Loyola w/ Krutwig....99-35

That's what scares me if we hire him.

He has a Final Four to his name, coaching at Loyola. You can sell that to a fan base. But, the Big 12 is a whole different animal.

And if you look at his first 6 Loyola years before Krutwig, how lucky was he that he wasn’t fired a second time? How many schools would fire the coach if this was their first 6 years? 90%?

Add in the 4 Illinois St years, and he had 10 consecutive years below .500 in league play:
4-14
8-10
4-14
6-12 Fired
1-17
5-13
4-14
8-10
7-11
8-10
*Krutwig arrives*
